I think Norv is concerned about being a 1 year rental with new ownership coming in.  He would have to relocate etc.

Norv won't stay very long.  Whatever his contract length will be is all he wants.  If it goes south he will walk away as he should.  The man has earned it.

Technically Rivera's only on board for 3 more years.

I'd guess he can't sign anyone to a longer contract than he has.
