Receivers need to be #1 priority.

Gordon is too big a risk.

Rams are expected to franchise Watkins.

We could get him down the road and I feel like you would low key hope he fuged up, just to say you were right all of these years in wanting no parts of him.

He's obviously a risk, we all know that but sometimes you have to take those. He's the only option that instantly gets you a number 1 WR. And if you could get him for a 4th in 2019 or potentially one of our three 3rd round picks in 2019 (if worse comes to worse and we lose both Norwell and Star; netting two 3rd round comps) then that risk is greatly lowered.

fug Bryant and Gordon.  I mean they are comically in the drug program.   They could only be viewed as luxury players and we can't afford that.   John Brown from AZ would be a smarter pick than those 2.  Dez is basically Funchess that can go up and catch.

John Brown has a sickle-cell trait which has lead to quite a few complications with his health. He's a big injury concern in my eyes.

A funchess who can catch contested passes would be fantastic in our offense. The one we have who doesn't was pushing 1k receiving yards anyway.

Martavis and Flash are high risk high reward guys. I really feel like Gordon has turned his life around. He didn't get suspended for weed. It was lean, alcohol, and weed, he was a full blown addict. He's since gone to rehab on his own accord to get healthy and come back on the other side. I'm really rooting for the kid and he is one of the best receivers in the game when he's on the field. A 3rd round pick for him or Martavis Bryant are well worth the risk in my opinion. They're young, cheap, and could do well in our vertical passing attack.

hard to catch with dudes drapped all over you

We had plenty of passes dropped or catchable balls that they couldn't/didn't make plays on. I am also not suggesting that we don't need to improve the personnel, just that the idea we need a roster filled with Ted Ginn's. You don't have to be a dynamic athlete to be able to get open on a route. But, you DO need to be a good WR to consistently make catches when you are open or the catch is contested.

I'm inclined to agree but I'm just as worried about our Secondary.

I’m honestly not even close to being as worried about the secondary. If we had receivers that could help move the chains AND get in the end zone, the defense wouldn’t look half as bad IMO.  They wouldn’t have to do half as much. I think we should upgrade our secondary no doubt, but I don’t think it is even close to the #1 priority.

I disagree. A year ago, yes, but have you seen the mini documentary on him getting clean? I'm really rooting for the guy and I think he finally has his life in order.

Also we won't have Jerry at the helm, guys with checkered pasts are more in play now, and his issues were self destruction through addiction, not being a POS to those around him. I'd give him a shot over a guy like Hardy any day of the week.

This WR free agent class leaves a lot to be desired... Especially if/when Watkins gets tagged. Jags likely keep Robinson as well and if they don't I'm sure they keep Lee.

Wallace should be targeted as our deep threat. He still has that speed and tracking ability, will come relatively cheap, and if compare to us getting a Ginn, has done wayyyy better than Ginn did before he got Cam throwing to him. Wallace should be a no brainer.

Landry is basically McCaffrey without the running ability. Don't want him. J. Matthews is pretty terrible too.

Moncrief, Pryor and Richardson all theoretically have the upside to be options but they've underachieved recently and I wouldn't trust any of them until they proved it.

All depends on what some of these guys command but I would try to target Wallace and Robinson or Lee. Then grab a guy in the 2nd round this year too.

Yeah but if you have "proved it" that also makes you a desirable commodity that puts you in a higher acquisition cost category. I am okay taking a flyer on an upside guy, provided that the risk is low. I would be fine signing any of those three guys for a cheap "prove it" deal.

Whoa Dez?  Acquiring Dez is worse then the crowd that wants Jordan Matthews.

He's basically an older shorter version of KB at this point. Nothing points to Dez turning his career around after 3 years of declining production.

His contract also sucks, but if we didn't have to eat that, he'd be far and away the best receiver on our team.

He can actually catch contested passes, and Dez sucks at putting up jump balls for him to get. That's what Romo did. That's what Cam can do too.

Before you guys get too excited about any wr you better figure out the type of receiver Norv covets in his offense.  And yes it will be his offense.  He will erase all the scribbling changes Shula did to his plays.  The route combinations will be redone and that will help tremendously.

Some of the answers are on the roster.  A few more pieces will be added but don't expect a flashy name to be added on O.  The D will get a makeover for sure.

This is the whole Whitworth/Kalil argument again.

I’d gladly move a pick for Fitz. He’s still VERY productive and knows how to play the damn position.

We need talent first worry about age second. Cam isn’t playing forever

Mike Adams and Julius Peppers were on the wrong side of 30. Jus' sayin'.

completely agree with Wallace...if the jags resign  Lee and we could get Wallce and ARob, that would be a dream off season for the WR position
