With a good passing game the running game would look 100 times better no matter who was carrying the ball.

I'd prefer someone who isn't playing in his 15th season.  I mean Larry would be a one year band-aid.  He also is a possession guy.  We got that covered in Olsen and Funchess.

Scheme and OL play had a lot to do with that. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him as being able to effectively rush the ball.

That's not saying much, as Stewart was barely getting 2 ypc at the end of the Season. You say so, though. CAP sure isn't the answer I was hoping for.

as if McCaffrey was provided any opportunity to be the lead, workhorse back.

RB is nowhere near the issue that WR is.

I definitely want to acquire another back, don’t misconstrue that.

I don’t think it’s fair to say CMC isn’t capable of carrying the load when he simply was not provided the chance, nor were there any backs effective in our system this past season.

True that Cam needs REAL receivers but our secondary got abused this year. The last game proved that when we ask our db’s to stop a top qb they can’t do it, and Brees/Ryan aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. 

Watch the upcoming game with the Vikings, they will stuff the run and force Drew to throw it, difference being they have guys on the back end who can make plays.

All of our RB's were ineffective this year. Do you think they are all bad or perhaps there were other reasons that they struggled? The only effective rusher we had all season was Cam Newton.
