Receivers need to be #1 priority.

Also Gordons problem was weed....will be legal shortly anyway...don't care about that "problem".

Marijuana is not likely to be off the Schedule I drug list within Gordon's career. It will be a much slower sell in North Carolina and the NFL could technically still restrict it even if they did. It's unlikely for all three of those dominoes to fall in the next decade or so.

Honestly, the more I look at it, we should use free agency to fill in our gaps on defense (lots of good players in the secondary available) and draft another WR with a high pick. With all the QBs that are going early in the draft, there's a good chance someone who can contribute as a rookie falls to 24.

And when you know why it's on there in the first place you get even more upset.

The Huddle's love affair with Josh Gordon is neverending.

"Let's trade a high pick for him now!  Hes got his life turned around!"

(Gordon fails another drug test and gets suspended indefinitely)

"Let's trade a low pick for him now! We can get him really cheap!"

Don't forget the brilliant "bargain bin unless it's a question-free superstar the entire league wants" couch GMs.

I would add Ealy.  He never really panned out for us or anyone else.  Samuel is still a question mark.

One injured season should never be used to judge a player.

Technically the only surefire home run out of that group is Short. Funchess could be a guy, remains to be seen. Bradberry appears to be trending in a negative direction, so the book is still out on him. Amini and Ealy were just flat out busts.

Best to pick up a proven WR3 in FA, a real possession type slot receiver like Ricky Proehl back in the day, and then try to draft a WR1 or WR2 with speed. I believe in Funchess as a starter for us, but we have to get some more speed on the field. A lot of the fast guys with good hands will probably be off the board before we get to pick, but there could be a small school wonder to be had.

If not, then look to the O-line... literally any position along it could be one of need.

Funchess can play y'all, I don't understand the hesitation there. He was balling until that shoulder injury and still managed to make plays against double coverage after that. Dude is going to be 24 years old next year and has all the physical tools you want for a top receiver. People are letting that final play he failed to make in the WCG cloud their judgement.

The best part of that whole debate to me is that across party lines, polls have consistently showed that a majority of Americans support legalization. Big business is even behind it, see how they have cornered the market in states that it is legal. However, none of this seems to matter to the lily livered politicians and anti-drug zealots we have in office. Given that this is in the face of fairly overwhelming support, the ulterior motives are pretty evident.

Funchess needs to improve in one or two areas, specifically catching the ball in traffic and coming back to the ball.  And I think Bradberry is been solid. About what I would expect out of a second year 2nd round draft pick.  He got burned sometimes, but that happens to even the best.   But I think both are so far, worth the pick.

I would agree on Funchess so far but disagree on Bradberry. It's early to say definitively, unlike Short, Amini or Ealy. Their talent level(or lack thereof) appears to be relatively clear.

We are wasting our time discussing Josh Gordon.

He probably actually has turned the corner, but sadly, we won’t touch him with a 10 foot pole. That’s just who we are as a franchise.

So let’s discuss the realistic options, even though they’re significantly less talented than Josh Gordon, they are better than what we’ve got on our roster.

Marquise Lee

Donte Moncreif

Taylor Gabriel

John Brown

Paul Richardson

all appealing to me

You know those types of franchises generally don't win.....

Ealy's talent level isn't the problem.  Never was.  It's his head.

What's tough to understand about that is that he came into the league with this phenomenal story about how he was taking care of his little sister.  Made it sound like he'd be one of the most motivated guys you ever saw.

Why he isn't?  Nobody seems to know.
