WELP looks like I was wrong, guess i'll have to watch that. I was going off memory about where he failed the drug test to get back in and those were MJ...muh assumptions.

Yeah I mean weed was definitely an issue for him, but it sounds like he was/is just an addict.

I do believe he has turned the corner and wish him the best.

I’m realistic though, we won’t go near him.

Rams are expected to tag Watkins. He likely won't be an option for next year.

Damn you're right, I just saw that. I guess it does make sense considering they traded a pick for him.

Then I really don't know, other than Robinson none of the other guys excite me. I doubt the Seahawks let Richardson go.

Amini, Short, Ealy, Funchess, Bradberry, Smauel. Our last 5 second round picks. Only Funchess and Short are worth a damn.

Come on man!  Amini is the only weak link on that list.  Don't let your hate cloud your judgement.

And if he doesn’t get banned and goes on to a hall of fame career...you turn into Mark Zuckerberg’s friend that was scared to drop out of school to start Facebook.

Ron and Hurney will be on Flash Gordon’s 30 for 30 talking about how they were afraid to risk a 2nd round pick.

Yeah, I would be more than willing to give him a shot. Playing it safe is what has killed us on and off the field for years. We had a great year in 2015 because we stopped being as conservative. Riverboat Ron was willing to take risks. We kept our foot on the pedal and blew out bad teams.

The possible reward is worth the risk. That’s smart investing. Safe isn’t always smarter.

That’s fair. I agree we need to upgrade the secondary, and I wouldn’t be opposed to going CB in the first round of draft. But, IMO, the reason we are not winning big games isn’t on the defense. We can’t score touchdowns. I think upgrading our receivers would fix that.

I’m not even saying we need two. I think if we were to sign a top FA WR to add to Funchess, Samuel, and Byrd we would be in great shape. We have Olsen and CMC to help there too, but adding a top receiver would allow us to score TDs and not settle for FGs. (That way we won’t have to ask the defense to do as much, which would make them better IMO)

I don't even know that I would take a CB in the first round unless he is a surefire home run. I would rather bring in a good, affordable veteran to give us the ability to shuffle Worley and Bradberry. Now, I would take a very high level safety in the first round.

I agree on the WR, it may only take one guy to really open up that offense. Funchess, if he can stay healthy, is a viable option and hopefully between Samuel and Byrd we can get some consistency from one of them. If not, at least we are one step closer to making our offense more dangerous. Heck, give me a high level route runner with good hands, even!

My biggest fear is that we end up having to replace guys like Peppers, Star and Norwell with our draft picks and can't adequately address some of our existing roster holes(WR, CB, OT, etc).

Yeah that is why I think Travis Benjamin is a realistic target. Experienced provides speed, can do returns, basically more experienced Byrd/Samuel. Plus he has shown he can stay healthy. I wouldn't think he'd cost too much, we don't have a 4th round pick so i'd offer a 5th. Honestly i'd go up to a 3rd for him just to the huge need he'd fill.

WR, CB, S, and DE.

I do not get the OT talk. Kalil will still be starting no matter if you like if or not. and Williams is a stud at RT.

I would hope that our front office and coaching staff are not delusional enough to think Kalil is a serious answer at LT. Given his contract, I realize we are married to that bum for at least 2 more seasons but that is not a reason not to upgrade unless they eventually envision Williams sliding over to be our future at LT. In a fantasy scenario, he is able to do that and maybe Moton turns out to be an above average RT.

You sure RB isn't one? Because we've seen how McCaffrey can't carry the load successfully.

I think McCaffery puts on extra muscle in the offseason. He wants to be RB and will do whatever necessary to make himself better. Plus, he did not get enough carries throughout any game to really see what he can do.  Everyone was expecting him to break the big one every play and was disappointed when he only got a couple of yards.  Hard to do anything with only 5 or so carries a game.

I am on board with a proven WR as top priority this offseason. Funchess is not quite there yet as the number one. A good WR opposite of Funchess will only make him better.

The Huddle's love affair with Josh Gordon is neverending.

"Let's trade a high pick for him now!  Hes got his life turned around!"

(Gordon fails another drug test and gets suspended indefinitely)

"Let's trade a low pick for him now! We can get him really cheap!"
