Are you Excited about Norv Turner becoming the OC (Poll)

According to him he pretty much retired.  He said he would only come back for the right situation, which apparently he didn't have in Minny. Take it for what it's worth.

One thing to also keep in mind -- we just stole his son, Scott, from Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. If Norv and Scott both do an excellent job, when Norv officially gives it up, we could see Scott becoming the OC, or even HC depending on how long RR has. Also, something I would like to point out, it doesn't matter who the OC is going to be if we don't get Cam weapons -- that has to be the biggest thing we address in the offseason or any OC we have won't amount to a hill of beans.

Seems to me that Norv has done more with less, but I really wanted someone that was better at situational play calling and attacking the other teams weaknesses. I can't remember the last time one of our QBs picked on another team's terrible corner other than the Smoot Incident in Minnesota, but that was more about Smitty than Jake.

Smitty used to pick on everyone's corners.

I need a 'Meh' option.

While I dont share the exuberance of the yes option Im pretty excited to see what a real OC with NFL bona fides can do with the set of tools we have.

I would re-hire Shula before I would call myself a Cons fan...

Not sure about Norv, have heard good and bad about him. Can’t be worse than Mike so I guess I’m cautiously optimistic

Excited about Mike Shula being gone. Not excited about hiring a 65 year old who had his best success in the early 90s. Thought Cam could have benefitted from someone with some fresh ideas. But Norv is known for building a QB friendly offense so I'm hopeful at least.

Norv is a very good OC, and his offenses tend to be very QB friendly.  He is a heck of a coach. 

Not my first choice, but I understand why him, if it truly is him. I still haven't seen anything concrete.
