The Silver Lining - Norv's Never Had A QB Like Cam

Yep I mentioned Sutton in another thread...

I think him and Ridley end up going 1-2 so does Sutton fall to 24?

Norv’s only season in Cleveland, Gordon put up 87 catches 1646 yards and 9 td’s...

I didn't realize Norv had history with Gordon than again I don't follow other teams too often.  That said if Gordon has truly turned the corner I would not be surprised if Turner pushed to get him here.

Those numbers came with Hoyer, Weeden and Campbell at QB that season.

Couldnt even imagine the numbers he’d put up here if he had Turner calling plays and Cam throwing him the ball

If the Panthers go get Josh Gordon then I'll know we're serious about winning the SB. Add him and we'll beat the ever loving poo out of the Saints or whichever team. Bombs from Cam to Gordon opens the up the field for everyone else. It would be incredible. A new era for our offense. Until then we're just spinning our wheels.

Think this is a really logical move from Hurney/Rivera standpoint. If you bring in a new system with the new OC, will take at least a year for the offense to gel. But H/R only have a year, if they're not performing really well next year, new owner cans everyone and starts over.

So, bring in Turner, who helped create the system Cam is running now, if it works, great, Turner doesn't want/need to be a head coach, wouldn't be surprised if he spent the rest of his career as an OC.

Bringing his son in works too, because, if Norv retires in a couple of years, then his son gets elevated to OC, keeps the system in place.

Best chance that Rivera has of keeping his job with the new owner is a really solid year next year. Rivera obviously thinks his best chance of that is with Turner.

If you look at the QB's Turner has had as an OC since the cowboy days, it's names like Flutie [at 39 years old], Alex Smith, Hoyer, Bridgewater. And, he made Hoyer look good until the Brown's Oline got him killed.

This run,run pass stuff is greatly exaggerated. Turner hasn't had the time or talent to really get his system in place for years, as an OC.

Got to have a solid RB, but as the panthers division rivals have shown, can get a great RB with 3rd-4th rounder.

Real key to me is getting Cam and Norv to connect. If that happens, and Norv can get him to be  a little more consistent with his mechanics, could be a great pairing.

It's sad when a rival fan understands the situation better than the teams fans.  Cheers.

Now fug the falcons.
