The Silver Lining - Norv's Never Had A QB Like Cam

Exactly,  Funchess is a number 3 at best in my book, need a fast number 1, and great hands number 2...still worried about Samuel though, seems injury prone to me.

eh i'd give the benefit of the doubt to curtis samuel. he's been healthy all throughout college and his recent injuries are more bad luck than anything he can control.

as for funchess, he is more a moose type receiver imo where he's more a good WR2 who does everything right except make the big time WR1 plays.

There is no reason to not be optimistic

smarter running. Smarter throwing

maybe even a true 2nd TE

go get two WRs (yes, two) and or one CB in free agency, use the draft, be hopefully

Cam Newton needs a teacher, not a peer, he may well have that now

we'd all like to have the next Sean McVay as coordinator, seems to  me he struggled a bit himself last week

This is a fix, hopefully a coaching upgrade, to get this team to the super bowl and win

If it doesnt work,  neither Ron or his staff or possibly Newton will be here past the next 2-3

One way to look at it is Turner has never had a QB like Cam. The other way to look at it is Turner has zero experience molding his system to take advantage of Cam's abilities. Could be half empty or half full. Hopefully Turner keeps the current creative playbook and puts his own fingerprint on it retaining what has worked and modifying what hasn't.  Hopefully he is willing to  take his relative's advice about what to do since they are already on staff.

that is an understatement. if we're getting Norv, it's imperative we go and get a guy like Sammy Watkins or a true WR1.

Funchess has not proven he can survive contested catch scenarios, which Turner needs.

And ya... Funchess just isn’t that type of player and he never has been. That’s not his game.

Terrell Pryor had a good catch percentage of balls in tight windows in 2016 (6th best I believe). But like I’ve said elsewhere we need to do better than him.

Thefuzz mentioned Dez Bryant, I think he gets cut to save money but I’m not sure how much he has left.

Theres a few other names that I went over in another thread too but god damn would Josh Gordon be perfect (he’d be perfect for anyway’s offense).

Hurney is just along for the ride.  Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise.  Ron and Norv will be running the draft room as well as free agency.  All Hurney has to do is find the money.

so is it set that Hurney will be here through the draft...and if it is true what you say there really isn't a reason for him to stay on if another GM is desired...prolly depends on how long the sale will actually take.
