This fan base has fallen off a cliff when it comes to this Norv Turner hatred

This is not hatred. There is actual evidence that Norv Turner has struggled. Panther fans are looking for a fresh start. A fresh mentality that will help us win. A new approach that will utiltize our personnel. Nobody thinks Norv Turner is an idiot, but we have actual historical data to be frustrated about.

Alot of this just seems to be the fallout of an organization that is searching for an identity. If Norv is the guy, we want him to do well..... but its not like we don't have reason to be skeptical.

Has he struggled with the Panthers and our personnel? What he did with San Diego or the Vikings isn't really that germaine. Let's be real here. Who exactly wants to come here and play for a franchise which is up for sale with an interim GM and who will likely get a contract that could be as short as 3 years like Rivera. Not exactly something most guys think is ideal.

Taking this into consideration we'd be getting someone who is only using it as a stepping stone and the "turmoil" excuse in his back pocket if it went awry or a guy who would be out for good when Rivera gets fired if this were to fail. Norv would just go out for good if him and Rivera were fired here if this doesn't pan out.

Point is the new owner and Riveras contract play majorly into this.

I mean I get it.  With unique talents like Newton, McCaffery and Samuel I'd like to see a young innovative OC that would make the rest of the league be trying to play catch up for the next couple of years.

Problem is that it usually takes a year or so to implement a new offense which wouldn't necessarily have to happen with Turner who runs like the same thing.   Turner is still an upgrade and I thought the scheme was pretty good in the first place even if play calling was lacking.

You could take this thread and swap out Norv's name for Shula and it would be exactly like the conversation we had when Shula was hired.  He was never successful, bottom of the barrel offenses...

I think most would agree Shula did much better here than was expected.  Personnel has a lot to do with that.  Maybe Norv will do much better here as well.

Just who do you people want that's going to be significantly better? Norv Turner in 2018 won't be the greatest OC of all-time, but he'll *certainly* be better than Mike Shula. Some of you people need to get over yourselves. With Norv, we're going to run something similar to what we've been running, only a much better version of it coming from a smarter mind. It's an obvious upgrade and if you disagree, you're flat out stupid.

Some people in this fan base are coming off like entitled little brats akin to Tennessee Vols fans.

you're one of those fans that praises how good/lucky we are because we aren't the Browns

neither...

What does that have to do with anything. Truth is Newton could be an OC killer. Everyone sees his athleticism and thinks he ought to be the next coming of Superman and any problems he has must be due to the OC or QB coach. When the reality is he has regressed since 2015 and can't stay healthy.
