Uhh Belichick brought people he knew with him when he first got to NE--Charlie Weis, had an extensive history with Belichick and Romeo Crennel had an even longer history with Belichick. They had a ton of success so he didn't replace them for a while, but he doesn't really bring in unfamiliar faces out of nowhere. After those two all of his assistants have been guys who came to the Pats at the very bottom and worked their way up and learned from Belichick and were promoted from within. Belichick has never brought someone into a high level coaching position with the team without knowing them first.

Scott being hired to be the QB coach would create one somewhat unique situation given that his assistant coach would be his cousin (Ron's son Cameron).

For Newton, it'd mean three Turners between him and Rivera.
