Curtis Samuel- who is he really?

To me

1. Samuels seems made of glass

2. He catches too many balls with his body, not his hands and that results in drops or worse yet bounces in the air off his body for interceptions

3. Not sure he can run routes

this team needs a true number 1 receiver, not Funchess, not gadget players and as they are abysmal at drafting one, go get one in free agency

Samuel, not Samuels. Don't know if you're doing the Philly thing where they intentionally add an S when not there, or just had a typo.

Also, why does he seem made of glass? He has had 3 total injuries in 4 years of football, one kept him out exactly 1 game. The 2nd injury kept him out exactly 1 game. The final injury (broken ankle) can happen to anyone at any time. And he still only missed 7 games after that.

Ok, so a rookie in the NFL who has never practiced under NFL conditions, comes in a little unprepared and strains a leg muscle. It keeps him out until week 2 of the regular season. He plays 9 games and breaks his ankle on a freak play.

What makes you think he will come into this off-season with the same lack of preparedness?

You could make the argument that his overall production suffered from his lack of practice reps. Since he was hurt all preseason. It’s just a head scratcher for me having that type of injury during camp because that type of issue during that time of the year for any sport is almost always due to not being ready.

And what are you basing this on? Legit question. Not trying to be a poo head.

Do you have extensive sports injury knowledge? Is there a historical record of related injuries to back up your claim?

All I'm saying is a muscle strain is, as far as I know, quite common and can happen anytime to anyone. And even if he wasn't "ready" for the off-season workouts, again...what makes you think he hasn't learned a lesson from that experience or will be prone to a repeat injury this off-season?

Yes. And I don’t think that sort of data exists.

All I’m saying is that being in shape minimizes the chance of having this type of issue.

I think he can be a heavy contributor next year. You obviously like him as a player and so do I.

I mean, we really only have one useful piece of game tape to evaluate him as an NFL receiver. Against Miami he ran good routes, showed good hands, and toughness catching the ball. I don't know if he's a full time receiver, WR2 or whatever, those labels are meaningless. Him and CMC in 2 back sets where one runs a route and the other stays in to block before leaking out into the flat could be deadly.
