After reading this article, it seems like we will have an offense very similar to Chuds few years back.  Turner loves stretching the field and air it out.  Turner also loves big bruising backs with wheels who can also play TE and WR.  Turner loves big physical WRs who are fast.  Turner also loves getting the ball out fast.

Looks like we will be adding #1 WR and #1 RB this offseason.

Norv Turner, former San Diego Chargers head coach and former offensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, also implemented a version of the Air Coryell style of offense. The Turner strain of Air Coryell offenses are still very reliant on a good receiving TE. Norv Turner strains sometimes feature an 'F-Back' (formerly known as an 'H-Back' in the 1980s), a hybrid tight end/wide receiver/fullback/running back. An F-Back is a multi-purpose, unpredictable tool for the offense. On any play he may carry the ball, lead block or pass block, play as a wide receiver, or run a tight end route. He is also part decoy, as his unpredictable role forces defenses to keep an eye on him, thereby opening up other opportunities for the offense.

Norv Turner quit the Vikings because he was not running the offense, Zimmer constantly changed Turner plans so Turner quit.

Turner is coming here because he will 100% own the offense.  Rivera will have no say in it.

I don’t even think we ran Air Coryell...  We had like 5 passes beyond 40 yards in first 10 games of the season.  Our WRs ran 10-15 yard slants and comeback routes.  I think Shula tried to mix West Coast offense with some college garbage and it completely failed.  Even when we had fast guys like Byrd and Samuel, we barely had routes designed for them beyond 15 yards.

It's the Huddle....we clearly didn't run anything near that with Shula here...

When Chud was here Cam was nailing the deep balls.....

Shula retarded 10-15 yard routes brought safeties forward, creating 9-10 men in the box and completely destroying our run game.  When you have 9-10 people in the box... blitzes are more effective and many times you don’t know who is blitzing and who is dropping back.  Air Coryell makes WRs run deep routes and RB and TEs run 5-15 yard routes.  2 big WRs require attention of corners and safeties, leaving RBs and TEs covered by LBs and sometimes just 1 safety.  Huge mismatch. Shula clustered 10-15 yards of scrimmage... destroying both the run and pass game.

Samuel was not used correctly.  He is talent.  All we need is 1 #1 WR and we are set at this position.  Samuel will completely destroy people in slot if used correctly.  He is extremely fast and quick and in space, he is deadly.  Do not be surprised if we draft RB in first.  Someone around 230lbs with 4.5 wheels and quickness.  We will also either sign or draft a blocking TE who is a good receiver.

A true Air Coryell system spreads the field so much that the defense has to play sideline to sideline and deep.  Receivers are always running in opposite directions.  For some reason, shulas offense had receivers running routes toward and often Into each other.  Made no sense at all.  Guys never got open because the defense had it easy...all our receivers ran to each other drawing multiple defenders into every play.

That won’t be a problem with Norv.  If we add speed, you can be rest assured that Cams huge arm will be taken advantage of with downfield shots in 1 on 1 coverages.

      For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.

      You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
