If new owner wants a new stadium would you be mad if it’s not uptown?

Media gonna media. Anyone with half a brain cell can see that BoA is a great venue that serves its purpose and does it very well. Some people just look at the fact that it's 22 years old and base their opinions off of that.

I was in the Superdome this past weekend and it made me miss BoA. The entry and exit lines were ridiculous. Cramped walkways, crowded restrooms, cash-only concessions, and no natural light. A lot of you take BoA for granted.

Football is a game that's meant to be played on natural grass in the elements. Even with that being said, Charlotte's climate is definitely mild compared to 90% of the outdoor climates teams play in across the league. BoA can be flat out gorgeous during October-November, especially during a clear day with the skyline in the background. Why would you want to trade that for a boring dome?

Maybe I'm a sucker for memories, but they have to keep BOA.  I get the parking isn't ideal, but it's not horrific.  Light rail north and south should help that considerably.  I used to park at a lot off 3rd where we could hang out if we wanted to, walk 10 minutes to the stadium, but it was a super easy escape (sometimes fast, sometimes slow).  The skyline of the city was great from the bowl.  Looking out on the concourses was also nice as the city is actually a nice looking place.

Also, Uptown has grown up around the stadium, lots of great places to eat, drink and celebrate/mourn losses well.

Sure, the elements can suck, like when it's 100 degrees and you're in the sun for four hours, but that's live football.  You sweat for what you love, right?

I live out by the Speedway, and I would HATE for a new stadium/sports complex to show up.  Race weeks are already enough of a nightmare, now add in 10 home games, plus whatever events go in this magical domed stadium?  We don't have the roads to accommodate that many people that often on a day to day basis.  No thanks.

As I read, same deal for the Fort Mill/Knights Stadium area.

Also, Uptown wants to keep the Panthers there.  Uptown will keep them.  They have more money than the other local players.  So I'm pretty sure it will take some other kind of event to move the Panthers out of Uptown.

Why do people want NFL teams in the South to play in a dome?  Especially in a city than won't host a SB?

This is all conjecture but I will play along .....  by the time we have a dome (5-9 years at the earliest) Charlotte and surrounding area should be large enough to qualify for Super Bowl standards of hotels etc..

And by then, it wouldn't surprise me a bit, if the NFL changed the SB format.

Minny

Miami

LV

NO

Houston

and start over again with Minny, or something to that effect.

I wouldn't doubt it!  Thought the number of hotel rooms would probably stay similar since there are only so many people that can fit into a stadium and provide ancillary coverage and support.  I also hate to say this but if the stadium was placed outside uptown then we would certainly have a rush of hotels in the corridor that the stadium was built.. similar to what happened in ATL with the new Braves stadium.

I drive from Raleigh. I would hate it not being in Uptown

Same, and I drive for Durham. I go to the games for everything, including the atmosphere around downtown. Even if Charlotte is full of "transplants" or "bandwagoners" of other teams.

NE, GB, the NY teams, Pittsburgh, Philly, Redskins, Chicago, KC, Miami, all play outside

That is how football is meant to be played

thats some NFL royalty there

the weather is part of the game and drama and toughness

i don't need a shopping mall. I need a tough hard nosed winning football team

if Sabates and the rest want more luxury boxes, they best do a study on if there is even a market for them and how many existing PSL owners will continue to pony up money for it. I know I won't. I'm at my limit right now
