I hope that's the case, the fact Norv was atleast a good enough OC to land a HC job somewhere shows he's already an upgrade over Shula by default

Exactly.

Norv Turner is a legitimate offensive mind.

Shula is a byproduct of his Dad's success.

dammit, I was actually happy at the prospect of Turner but after reading more on him today on here, I'm very worried

He was with the Browns and Vikings. Neither had a QB or other offensive weapons during his tenure (except an injured / suspended AP)

Norv Turner as an OC his last four seasons. His teams ranks in total offense:

2016 - 28

2015 - 29

2014 - 27

2013 - 18

You won't convince me this is an upgrade at all.

The only offense they had was A.P.

One thing for sure, the traditional run game will be better & consistent.

LOL most of you were thanking God that we fired Shula this morning. Now you're bitching about his replacement?  what is it that you want?

Probably a newer offensive mind with the ability to transform the Panthers offense into a consistent force.

Turner is a guy we've all seen before, it's not exciting and isn't anything new. And quite honestly, hasn't done a whole lot in his lon career. The Panthers need to find the next Sean McVay, not the same ol' Norv Turner.

Father/Son combo on the way?

We already have one, and they're also Turners.

Norv's brother Ron is on staff as an offensive consultant. Ron's son Cameron is our assistant quarterback coach.

If Norv and Scott come aboard, that'll raise our Turner family count to four.

I don't care, Shula is gone. Just a new face will have a positive effect on the whole offense. All Norv has to do is just be average and don't waste timeouts and we are gold. Cam will take care of the rest.

The biggest difference will be the traditional run game. Having a consistent run game that relies on RB instead of Cam will help the passing game & keep Cam healthy.
