Yeah. It could be because he was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.  Air Coryell may be what is holding us back. There are numerous schemes that would fit our Qbs playing style not just the coryell. I think we need to focus on what would make our other players play to our qbs level.

Coryell fits Newton's skill set (and our personnel) way better than WCO does.

This guy was run out of town in Minnesota for the exact same reasons we all wanted Shula gone. Probably one of the least inspiring candidates out there IMO.

Well we do have 2 pass catching running backs in CMac and Samuel, then Olsen,..

So we do have the personnel to run whatever we want.

when Chud was here Cam hit stewart for 400 plus yards receiving underneath. 

Plenty of WCO coaches still go deep a lot, Brett Favre and McNabb being examples.

foot ball is football as Chip Kelly would say, having good schemes and calling the right plays at the right times and having players put in position to do the best they can do is what it’s all about.

i say we can run a WCO if we want to. We won’t— Rivera already said in the interview maintaining continuity was key— that means same language, different style of play caller.

HELL YEAH. As much as i hate the falcons i respected the hell out of that offense last year. And once the niners got Jimmy G they started rolling at the end of this year with no names on that offense. Shanahan system is LEGIT.

We also need to take into consideration what Ron said about changing the offense to help the defense.  Besides the notion of a better offense keeping the defense off the field more, practicing against a more effective offense would allow the other side of the ball to advance as well.  This defense has been held back in many aspects because the offense was incapable of replicating the variety of looks shown by other teams... especially, the team that had our number this year.  Here's hoping for a rising tide to lift all boats.

Here's the thing, Norv is the master of the scheme Chud and Shula were trying to execute. I don't think there was anything wrong with our scheme, I think there were problems with the guys calling the plays in that scheme. 

Cam has been very successful in this scheme, now we're cutting out the middle-men and pairing him with the authority on this scheme. Norv also has enough skins on the wall to challenge Cam.

I wouldn't be pissed about Norv, but crowing about accountability from Cam Newton while suggesting the same sort of tired retreads from a bygone era that have been the sort of moves that have kept this franchise stagnant for years doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you want brutal honesty.
