Norv would be good for Cam.

Might have been awkward switching positions. Don't know.

I think Scott followed him there, so it might have been more about getting a better job for his son.

I do remember his son now...yea it was probably that.

I liked what Gruden said recently. He said he doesn’t want people who agree with him. He wants thinkers and people who are smart enough to disagree and come up with something better.

That’s how new ideas are formed and how teams grow and get better.

The culture Ron’s developing seems to be one of superior and subordinate. Ron has his vision and his way of thinking how he wants football to be played, and he only wants pieces to fit his old style.

If it all fails, there won’t be much better ideas coming, since all Ron did was really hire yes men.

In a way, he’s doing what JR did, and it’s a damn shame.

To be fair, that's most coaches. Hardly anybody surrounds themselves with people who disagree with them.

And it's also worth remembering that Gruden got displaced when his players basically mutinied.

Was just about to type that.  Coaches SAY all types of things in press conferences, and rarely DO any of what they said.

"We're going to be an aggressive, downfield passing offense"

"We're going to keep going for it on 4th and less than 4"

"I want coaches around me that are smart, intuitive, and creative, not yes men"

Yea right, most coaches are scared of their own shadows...hence why Norv is on the plane in, and a bright young playcaller is laughing somewhere at how much we are going to waste Cam's next couple years.

You're not on board with Norv?

I'm 100% on board with letting go of Shula and Dorsey, outside of 15, I have seen very little improvement in Cam's game since his 1st year...that's unacceptable after having been here that long.

I'm not 100% in on Norv.  His offense is fun to watch when clicking, but awful to experience when it isn't...very similar to Shula's.

Honestly, I would love to have Norv here to be the go between for Ron and a younger, inventive play caller...in a consultant/asst. HC role.

At the end of the day, I think that Norv will be an upgrade over Shula...but that's not saying much.

I’d like a young fresh mind with new ideas and energy. Norv Turner is just meh. He’s like a Ron Rivera of offense. He’s been around and we all know what he brings

You don't have to reinvent the wheel to be successful in the NFL.  I know that you probably don't believe me,  but I'm telling you that doing the basics at a consistently high level will trump trying to be cute most of the time.

Why are we interviewing one person? Why are we hiring that one interviewee?

That's stupid as hell

Jourdan Rodrigue has confirmed we'll interview other people also, but that could just be in case Norv doesn't agree.

And honestly, when you're hiring assistants like position coaches, it's not unusual to just interview one guy.

I think Norv wants to groom his son Scott to be his heir apparent.
