Hypothetical OC Interview

PantherBrew

Run to set up the pass?

Pass to set up the run?

Are you able to change those mindsets not just from game to game, but half to half?

What was wrong with the Panthers run game last year?

What have you seen from Cam Newton, that makes you think he would excel in your offense?

Do you think it's important to have a 2 minute and a 4 minute offense?

We have two potentially dynamic playmakers on the roster with experience at both RB and WR in McCaffrey and Samuel. Tell me in detail how you plan to utilitize these guys to create match up issues for the defense. (I want to hear about looks where both line up in the backfield flanking Cam in the shotgun with a run/pass option and checks to be able to split one or both out wide depending on the defensive look)

We know we are mediocre at LT. How do you plan to help out Kalil and mitigate the rush from Cam’s blind side? (I want to hear about hard play actions not this token stuff we do so often, screen passes to that side of the field to exploit an aggressive rusher, and plays specifically designed to get Cam out of the pocket and rolling out to his RIGHT. Too often Shula would have Cam rolling to the left. Why roll toward the weak side of your OL and to the opposite hand of your QB forcing a throw across his body?)

This is super simple stuff but it’s stuff that I never saw evidence from Shula that he grasped.
