Not necessarily. New owner will pick his GM, whether he wants to keep Hurney or bring in his own guy is yet to be seen.

Just heard RR on the radio.....said he hopes Marty can stay on as they are building a working relationship.

also said DC will he hired in house if Wilks departs....has 2 good candidates.

That'd be Washington and Holcomb.

he's mentioned Cam's health like 4 times, like he's making excuses for Shula even though he's fired

Funny how people saying Cam was injured all year is now saying Cams health isn’t an excuse. I’m very confused now?? Or am I just looking at it from the wrong way?? No seriouslyi want to know??

Ron kinda has to cover for himself for not making this move sooner. Bill Voth confirmed on panthers.com what I'd suspected all along - there was an internal effort to try to get Ron to make this change last year. I had suspected this since Gettleman's frustrated off-season presser where he downplayed the promised offensive "evolution" saying that was too strong of a word to use to describe the changes coming.

http://www.panthers.com/news/article-2/Why-the-Panthers-moved-on-from-Mike-Shula-/0171655f-6156-44cc-a554-569ed5e52894

After 2016’s 6-10 finish, Rivera was under internal pressure to make a coordinator change. But staunchly loyal and firmly positive, he believed Shula could navigate personnel tweaks to make the offense thrive like it did in 2015. That evolution never happened as the Panthers struggled to establish an identity this season.

LOL at you guys complaining about Ron wanting a ball control, time of possession dominant team.  The top 5 teams in TOP this year were Philadelphia, Minnesota, Jacksonville, our very own Panthers, and the Steelers.  The bottom five are Oakland, the Giants, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Cincy.  I think I'd rather be in the first group.

Every team wants a ball control offense.  If you have the ball, its easier to score and harder for the other team to score.  I' don't want to sling it all over the field.  I don't really care about individual stats.  I just want to win, baby.
