Butler to replace Star?

Nothing against star. He's been a great anchor for our line and allows Luke to roam free and everything, but I'd rather lock up Norwell long term.

We don't have anyone who can play at Norwell's level already on our roster but we have someone who can potentially do the same at NT in Butler. When he was drafted I remember his scouting tape saying he could play either NT or UT, so it looks like we'll be using him at NT moving forward.

Butler looked really good the second half of the season. If he stays healthy I don’t see a drop.

You can not drop big money on 2 players at the same position (relative ie DT). 

Pay one and draft the other. 

Bulter is without question going to slide into Star's spot if Star leaves.

I'd agree with that line of reasoning.

There is, of course, the potential that we could lose both.

I like Star, but if we want to keep rotating linemen as much as we do, we absolutely shouldn't give him a big contract. We had Love and Butler in on numerous key series this season. The guys that make the most money need to be the biggest contributors throughout the game.

Yeah, I hate the thought too, but unfortunately it's a real possibility.
