Alright. Seasons Over. How do YOU Grade Christian McCaffrey's Rookie Campaign

McCaffrey can't help he was over-drafted. He did about as I expected. He's obviously a smart and talented player that you absolutely want on your side. Within the context of this offense,  I'll give him a solid B. I'm looking forward to seeing him blossom and become more of a match-up problem for the opposition in the future.

What you can accomplish with a pick depends a lot on your coaching staff.

If you have a coaching staff that's not creative, then it's best to make draft picks that fit traditional molds.

If you're going to pick a non-traditional type player, it's best to have coaches who are smart enough and creative enough to know how to use them.

If you're evaluating his game as a whole, I would say B.

He turned things on as the season progressed. He's got a bright future. But we need to decide if we want to him to be an RB or a WR and move forward accordingly to shore up this run game so Cam doesn't have to lead the team in rushing again. That should never happen again with Cam approaching his 30's.

I hear you on the rushing front, but I don't want to make him a RB or a WR...we need him to do exactly what he did this year, but at a higher level as he gets better.

As to the grade.  B.  I don't care where he was drafted, there isn't a player that would have helped us win more games this season than CMC.  He was exactly what I was hoping for, a gameplan wrecker, and a reliable chain mover, that can occasionally bust off a big one.

He will only get better.

Also, seemingly no rookie wall.

I give him an A for receiving. B for running. I think he needs more runs to get in a groove. I am certain he will put on more muscle weight in the offseason. If he can gain close to 10 pounds it will really help his run game.

More than anything and like everyone else, I would mostly like Shula replaced. He has really hurt the team.

Here's hoping Shula continues to "evolve" his role.

Don’t have to worry about Shula anymore.

Our offense has serious potential and versatility. A great O-Coordinator could make this team unstoppable... especially if a WR gets added and our current ones stay healthy.
