Alright. Seasons Over. How do YOU Grade Christian McCaffrey's Rookie Campaign

Teams were clearly game-planning for him early in the season.  What was very encouraging is that CMC continued to improve as the long NFL year wore on.  A lot of rookie RBs really slow down in the 4th quarter of the regular season, but this kid didn't.  I am looking forward to seeing a more consistent line in front of him along with a possible FB plowing the road in front of him.

playoff stats are never merged with regular season stats anywhere . The stats I posted were just regular season .

CMCs post season stats :

6 rush / 16 rushing yards / 2.7 ypc / 0 Rush TD

6 receptions / 101 receiving yards / 16.8 yards per reception / long 56/ 1 receiving TD

oh sorry, i misread your OP. thought you said the playoff game was included, but you told us to include it ourselves.

A-.

Thought he did very well as a receiver, even though teams started keying in to him the last 3/4 of the season with an injured Olsen. Not sure there is a RB with better hands than him in the NFL and he probably runs better routes than all of our receivers not named Olsen.

He could do a better job running the ball, but when you run such a vanilla playbook that specializes in plays for power backs (which CMC is not), then it would have been a miracle if he did well. Also remember, our O-line was terrible with run blocking the 1st half of the season without Kalil. Although Larsen did a solid job pass blocking, he is a bad run blocking center, which kills this run game with how many run plays happen between the tackles. I honestly don't recall many run plays where he didn't get hit either behind or at the line of scrimmage.

No one mentioned how he was on the field the whole season. Considering his size this year, being able to stay healthy IS an intangible in my opinion. Has to get some credit for that. (yes, I do realize some injuries are fluke, and just happen).... When he inevitably adds a little more size and strength in off season and the game really starts to slow down for him... Think this kid has a high ceiling. He has very high football I.Q. He WILL be a ton better next year....Wait and see.
