"Getting really involved in the first few days of free agency can be dangerous"  "need to really focus on locking up young talent first"

sounds very Gettleman like, maybe he did learn a thing or 2 after throwing around crazy money last time

"RB is by far the deepest position in this draft, its packed"

OL did play decent this year, he's right. I think with one legitimate weapon on the outside it will allow us to spread our formations to prevent 8 in the box. We need to tighten up on WR, S, and DE for sure. I hope and pray Hurney learned from his mistakes from '09 and '10.

    • Entering year three, and there are reasons I would look into this more before offering a fourth or fifth. He was drafted in round 2 in 2023.  His rookie season, he played 14 games and was targeted 40 times.  Targeted 3 times a game, basically.  He caught 27 (67.5%).  A TE target/catch percentage should be higher than a WR--70-75% is considered good.  In 11 games this season, he was targeted 32 times and caught 21.  Again, about 3 targets per game, with a target catch percentage of 66%. They decided to draft a TE after his rookie season. This means they did not see him as a #1 TE. He has not been very healthy (9 missed games in 2 seasons--26%). Could he be better with a better QB?  Probably.  Having said all that, he is an excellent blocking TE.  I would trade a 6th for him, but only if I knew Thomas and Tremble were not coming back.
    • 4th, 5th or later for him all day. Get it done ASAP.
    • the personal problems is something that would have to be checked out, but I'd do it.  That's how we got Greg Olsen.  He was a first round pick and we traded a 3rd for him a couple of years later.  He became our best TE ever
