Ron Rivera likely gone with new owner

And rightfully so. I say new ownership brings in a GM and says stick with Rivera for atleast next year and then the GM can decide completely on his own what to do with the coaching staff. Whether it be get rid of Rivera and bring in his own coach or even force Rivera’s hand on bad assistants or if we have success next year keep them all in place. But the owner needs to establish a set hierarchy and the GM he hires should have total control over coaching staff.

I'd honestly rather the owners not dictate anything at all to the GM.

I agree but they wouldn’t really need to. Any GM will be hired well after most of the offseason program. You don’t hire a new head coach then which means Ron sticks around this year for sure.

$ 2+ billion dollars is a lot of money to spend and not have your own guys in place.

Understood but when did these potential owners have time to make a list of their own guys?  I seriously doubt the new owner comes and cleans house because its going to take time to find all the right people.  These potential owners dont just have a complete football team staff on stand bye.

Folks you can all blame the coach...but we need better players

how do you think we would have done this season josh and Ginn still on the team...and that is only TWO players

We'd still be in the playoffs, probably be the top choice to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl...and depending on who we played, we might actually be favored to win it.

Perhaps, but the sale is going to take too long for anything to happen this year.

Coaching staffs have to be in place before free agency and the draft. No way the sale gets done before then. And even if it did, you've got interviews and all that. It takes time to build a staff. Throw in that by that time, anybody that was worth hiring would already have a job.

Current leadership will probably continue through next season. After that, it's anybody's guess.

Basically, next year is an audition year for all involved.

In this league, you are either good enough to win the superbowl or your not. And I stand by my thought that Ron and Shula are just too damn stubborn and loyal to win a superbowl. Broncos knew Fox didn't have what it takes to win the whole thing, so they made a ballsy move and got a ring for it. Whatever the decision, you gotta make it THIS offseason and stand by it. Cam and Luke ain't getting any younger.

Including Newton? Kuechly? etc.

I think mainly administration and coaching, but I do think it will be an evaluation year for players as well. Even fan favorites like Cam and Luke.

Cam is very polarizing, so it’s possible a new owner would come in with a preconceived opinion about him. They may also want a different style then we run with him as our quarterback. Not saying that’s what I would advocate for, but as much as people want to think he is untouchable, the new owner might feel differently.

I acknowledge the possibility.
