Alot of talk about the concussion protocol with Cam

Well....it's begun. The league has officially started an investigation into the Panthers. Not good I would say. Hope they can prove it was actually an eye issue, and the noggin.

I think it’s just due diligence. There was definitely the impression that something was wrong, so the league feels it needs to give  the look of doing something.

However, I think the explanation that it was actually Cam’s eye that was bothering him makes a lot of sense, especially when you look at how he was acting and even the ice pack he had on his eye when he got back to the bench.

Don’t think much will come of this!

The NFL will issue us a fine to say that they did something. The Saints' defender will likely get a fine as well. Meanwhile, no one will mention the fact that the NFL fails to protect Cam Newton on the field by once again allowing him to take a vicious blow to the head in the pocket with no flag thrown. A 15 yard penalty and automatic 1st down in a close playoff game means a helluva lot more to teams and players in that game than a fine that amounts to pennies on the dollar for players making millions.

Nothing. Texans got no penalties for putting Tom Savage back into the game and he was woozy on the field. Cam was pointing to his eye before he went down on the field. All indications were an eye injury to Cam whereas Savage was clearly concussed and he was put back in the game.

Gosh this savage guy... that's is undeniably one  cool ass last name

That guy got savagely knocked the fug out on live TV and went right back into the game. I'm not talking dazed or shook up, he was OUT. Unconscious. He stiffened up in the "fencing response". You do that and you're out.

Texans received no punishment for that, but the NFL got raked over the coals for it in the media too.

Cam sat still on the ground for a moment. Almost lost the ball but held onto it. He walked slowly to the sideline and then fell to one knee with his hand on his helmet like he was holding his head. But he was trying to get to his eye.

When the camera was on cam as he walked off the field his eye was watering. He had a clear stream of tears from his right eye as he walked off.

Went into the tent. Came back out with an ice pack on his eye. Sat on the bench. Seemed to be fine minus laying on the ground for a moment after the hit.

Hell, Hurney stated that they told Cam to take a knee before the sideline. (Not that THAT hasn’t happened before, ever!)

but, I guess we will see. Nothing with the NFL surprises me anymore. Unless it’s a call that goes the Panthers way, when needed!

The league is actually looking into whether the Panthers might have violated protocol.

I don't think they did, but we'll see.

How can you blame the team and not blame the refs. If there was a shot to the head it should have been flagged and Newton escorted to the side. Just another example of how the league wants to continue to influence games but take no responsibility of what that does to players.

if the NFL makes a stink about him being in the concussion protocol then they're admitting that he was hit in the head yet again with no flag.

that's how Rivera should respond when asked about it. 'Well I didn't see a flag for a hit to his head, so why would I put him in the protocol?'
