Now that our off-season is officially upon us , I can finally start stretching my imagination about the possibilities of changes made this off-season . New owner , and possibly new GM and new OC .

I'll start off with my senario.

We have currently only about 12 million in cap space after you take draft picks into account . It's incredibly obvious we need to do some financial house cleaning to put ourselves in a position to actually do something meaningful in free agency and not just sign scrub wr/saftey

• CUT Charles Johnson (DE) [+ 3.5 MM]

• CUT Russell Shepard (WR) [+ 2.1 MM]

• CUT Fozzy Whittaker (RB) [+1.1 MM]

• CUT Jonathan Stewart (RB) [+3.75 MM] (tried to restructure , Stew wasn't agreeing , will not pay this large sum to an aging 3.4 ypc running back )

• CUT Kurt Coleman (S) [ +2.7 MM]

• REDO Thomas Davis (OLB) [+2 MM] (I told him to take a team friendly deal or take a hike , TD took the deal )

REDO Greg Olsen (TE) [+ 2MM] (Greg is set to nearly 10 mil against the cap, he's a great player but getting older /injured it's way too much money . Shave a bit off his contract make it alot more reasonable )

REDO Ryan Kalil (C) [+ 3MM] (another player that has no business counting 10 mil against the cap, R.kalil, olsen , and M.Kalil contracts are strangling the Cap)

New cap heading into free agency : 31.8MM (basically added 20 MM just by very obvious cutting and restructuring )

FREE AGENCY

+ RESIGN Gano [- 2MM]

+ RESIGN D.Anderson [-2 MM]

+ RESIGN A.Norwell [-8 MM] (this is the one big contract I give to a current player on the team )

32 MM - 12MM = 21MM Cap space (draft picks already accounted for)

+++ SIGN Allen Robinson WR [-12 MM with sign bonus included and contract particulars]

9MM left in Cap space (with draft pics signed )

That draft would be insane, just to bsd wouodnt be realistic haha

Like the FA, disagree at getting Greg to restructure as that may hinder his contract extension going forward.

Allen Robinson is a beast but think I'd rather give a Lot less money to a guy like Moncrief vs a Robinson coming off a ACL injury.

I had a weird draft:

Christian Kirk / WR

Mark Andrews / TE

Clelin Ferrell / EDGE

Deshon Elliott / S

Carlton Davis / CB - absolute steal in round 5

Nick Gates / OT

Brian Allen / G

Rasheem Green / DL

With this draft I'd look to Free Agency to sure up the offensive line and bring in a solid safety and cornerback (or two).

Love the Kirk pick

Andrews is a Stud

Ferrell is returning to school

Elliott and Davis wont make it out of round 2

Happy off-season guys

I'd let DA and Dickson walk and spend a midround pick at TE.

I love the idea of bringing in Robinson AND drafting Miller. Funch, Robinson and Miller looks to be a really well rounded WR group. Really, give me Harrison and Miller and I'll call it a successful draft.

  • Cut Fozzy Whittaker
  • Cut Cameron Artis Payne
  • Cut Mike Adams
  • Cut Charles Johnson
  • Cut Russell Shepard
  • Cut Greg Olsen
  • Cut R.Kalil
  • Cut Jstewart

Resign

  • Jstew (Much more team friendly deal : about 1.5 mil 1 year) (performance and age related)
  • R.Kalil (Team friendly deal , he was set to make 10 mil against the cap and hes been injured past 2 seasons in a row + age)
  • Olsen (Team friendly, 4 mil a year 2 years, his injuries past season and age, and he was set to count almost 10 mil against the cap)
  • Norwell (4 year 5 mil a year , he could make more on the market but chose to stay here)

Did not get Resigned:

  • Gano, CJ, Bersin, Dickson , Silatolu, Chris Scott, Peppers,  Star, Teddy Williams, DA, Coleman, Shepard , Adams, Fozzy, CAP

At this point 41.5 MM in Cap space after Cuts and Re-signings

Signs : Olsen and Kalil were originally set to count 10 mil each vs the cap, we HAVE to resturcutre or cut resign them to cheaper deals this offseason to clear up much needed space. Reduced both their Cap hits to less than half that amount .

Really like this and I have that on mine as well.  Stew has dropped a little this year but more on the offense than him. He lead the entire    League in rushes into stacked boxes.  With no threat in the pass game, it allowed teams to stack the box up.  This along with Larsen at Center or Amini starting at OG, that didnt help Stew either.

The one this id change though would be cut Kalil and sign Star.

Kalil even if he agrees to restructure itll still be a lot because its a big contract, plus he's missed 16 games the last 2 seasons.  Its time to draft someone in the first 3 rounds to replace him.  That money you'd save from him could go to Star.  While Star, everyone projects to get paid big $.  He's a NT.  NT get paid Waaay less then their fellow DTs that are pass rush rush DTs (there are only 10 DTs in 4-3 defenses getting atleast 10 a year and those are rush DTs).  Brandon Williams became the Highest paid NT this year at 10.8 mil a year.  Star isnt going to get quite that much, could Easily see him get 9-9.5 a year.

Did this one for fun just so you can compare how how flexible a team like the Browns is. They have so much caproom they could be completely different team next year . Whats scary is the 49ers have shittons of money and they went on that win streak to end the season lol.
