Roughly 24 mill in cap space, who stays..who goes

Cuts I would make:

  1. Released Jonathan Stewart
    (Saved: $3,712,500)
  2. Released Captain Munnerlyn
    (Saved: $-2,400,000)
  3. Released Russell Shepard
    (Saved: $2,125,000)
  4. Released Charles Johnson
    (Saved: $3,187,500)
  5. Released Mike Adams
    (Saved: $2,100,000)

The Stewart cut is purely money. If he'd restructure on a team-friendly deal I'd do it. Otherwise we've got to move CMC to the starter and pickup a bruiser in a deep RB class. Both those things should probably happen even if we had Stewart take a paycut.

Even though he is injured a lot, there is an obvious difference when Ryan is in at Center, I can't justify cutting him. I do think both Kalils may be gone after the 2018 season though.

CJ is done. Shepard showed nothing all year. Adams is too old (and caught that freakin INT like an idiot). Munnerlyn didn't look great, already is upset about his use, and should be replaceable by a combo of Elder, Shaq, and Colin Jones - but maybe it's not worth the increase in cap usage.

I agree with you on Stewart. I'd keep him if he'd restructure. If not, it's time to move on. Since CAP and CMAC are under contract I'd cut Fozzy too. This is a fairly deep class in terms of running backs so I think he can easily be replaced. Shedding Whitaker's contract would save another million dollars.

The only thing I may disagree with on is Mike Adams. I think he had more of an impact on defense than Kurt Coleman did this year. He had 2 INT's this year...which is two more than Coleman had in 2018. I think his veteran presence is needed while we're grooming the Safety we hopefully draft this year to replace him. I would consider cutting Coleman before cutting Adams and try to find someone in FA.

PS--Did you go to Spotrac website and hit the manage roster tab. If you did, that's a cool feature isn't it?
