1.5 m roster bonus for 3/16/18. He doesn’t get it if he’s cut before it.

Overthecap and Spotrac have different numbers for the roster bonus. Im gonna roll with Spotrac. also just FYI the (~) symbol signifies the word "approximately", aka "not exactly", "roundabout", etc.

CJ is gone, Star may be gone too honestly (I'm not sure we can afford to keep him), Munnerlyn should be gone and actually got paid a pretty penny this year for doing nothing, we need to keep Adams who actually out performed Coleman this year, cut Sheperd, cut Stewart (hate to say it), cut Anderson, cut Gano. How much would that give us?

Ryan Kalil has to go, no doubt.    Honestly, I think Larsen was pretty good and honestly didn't notice too much improvement with Kalil back.     He's not worth the money at the risk he brings, as much as he was a beast most of his career, it's time to move on.

CJ, Stewart, have to go.    If Stew wants a drastically smaller salary to come back and also a smaller role, sure, but he CANNOT be our feature back.

We have to keep Norwell, but my GOD this team needs receivers, and not any more of these "pick up off the street" guys no one wants like Byrd, Clay, etc.    We need proven guys.    I don't care if we break the bank, if we had a #1 receiver we are going to the next round of the playoffs right now despite the other issues.

If Coleman and Adams save money, and it makes sense, good bye.    They are terrible.    Coleman should be sending a % of that check to Norman every year because he's living off that year Norman made him look amazing.

Hey man, I was only correcting information. No reason to get bent out of shape, I’m probably one of the bigger off-season geeks on here and have been doing cap evaluations for years.

I don’t see Ryan going anywhere, restructure for less money, he’s the leader on that line.

CJ has played his last game in the NFL

Anderson needs to be gone, along with Amini

Matt K should be demoted to water boy

sign Star, Norwell

increase over all team speed, have to beat the teams in your division if you want to succeed

Thankfully Amini isn't under contract.

Cutting CJ and Stewart should happen. How do you draft a guy top 10 and not make him your feature back. Not to mention our system isn't designed for a power I back anymore.

Mainly because he isn't a feature back...last night showed where his strength lies...last week showed where his weakness lies...

Per Sportrac we have close to 18M in cap space for next year, I don't think that counts any increases next year.

  • Cutting CJ is obvious. Save about 3M.
  • Shephard would be next, was utterly useless this season and would save about 2M.
  • Stewart would save nearly 4M, but I'm not sure outright cutting him is the preferred move. Even if we draft an early round RB, having a dependable vet who has been nothing but a positive leadership position and can at minimum still be effective in short yardage is desirable. If we can save 2M on the cap and "extend" his contract to keep him around a couple of years then hopefully he'll be willing to end his career here. If he doesn't want to take that kind of paycut then 4M of savings on a declining RB is likely too much to pass up.
  • Would rather not cut Mike Adams, felt he was a below average starter but a hell of a lot better than the guys behind him and would be a good backup at least if we draft an early round safety.
  • DA is already off the roster, so we don't save anything there.
  • M Kalil and Captain are 2 I would like to move on from, but the dead cap is larger than the cap hit for both so that's impossible until at least 2019.

If we cut Stew that would be about 27M in cap. Priorities are 1) Norwell, 2) Star, 3) FA WR 4) FA S

  • Norwell will probably be around 8-9M per per which would make him a top-5 paid OG.
  • Star is a NT and not quite among the best at his position, looking at similar players he should be able to be locked up for 4-5M per at most. If he demands big money then I think we let him walk and let another team wreck their cap on an above average NT.
  • That would leave somewhere in the neighborhood of 13M for rookies and FA. Would be incredibly happy to snag a Moncrief and a decent FA SS with that money.
