If Cam was half as bad as Kuechly today every other thread on here would be about finding a new QB

That's just a fact.  Players have bad games, it happens.  Luke had an atrocious one today.  How come he NEVER gets blame when I swear some of you look forward to Cam playing bad so you can make a thread about how we need to find a replacement.

Lots of people, including myself, ripped Luke apart in games he struggled in in the past. I believe that first Aints game was one of them. It’s rare for Luke to have an off game but when they happen he gets called out for it too

Luke has had three of the worst games of his life against the Saints this season. He's still a tremendous player but the Saints have obviously figured something out. But that still doesn't explain all the misswd tackles he's had against them, many of them outright whiffs. You just don't see that from Luke... unless it's vs. the Saints in '17-'18

I'm sorry but your flat out wrong. Luke kept the deadliest RB duo in the league to barely any yards. He mad a ton of calls that stopped the run. He missed a few tackles but to say he had a bad game is absurd. Outside of having to cover WRs ON THE OUTSIDE OR DEEP IN THE FEILD he did very well. Guess what? Safety's and CB are suppose to cover deep throws and outside throws. They didnt. If anyone was bad it was the secondary.

I think there is always reasons/execuses for a player having an off game just depends on whatever word you use. Luke has had some off games but just like cam is all pro at his position. Defensive scheme isnt the same either. Wilkes asks him to blitz more but luke just isnt an outstanding blitzer. Shaq and TD were used more often under mcdermott. I think he made plenty of plays. There are some holes on this team, but there is some bones in which to build a superbowl contender. Hopefully the right people walk through that door. Lets try and have some optimism.

    • Agreed on the last part. They can’t afford to lose all these games with Martin and Perets.
    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
    • People here get mad when I tell them I prefer Miracle Whip over Dukes
