Today during the game Aikman said that if you subtract Cam’s rushing yds from our rushing totals we’d have the 31st ranked rushing attack in the NFL. That statistic alone proves we need to get better up front.

2017 Panthers rushing offense: 2102 rushing yards (4th), 15 rushing TDs (7th)

2017 Panthers rushing offense without Cam Newton: 1348 rushing yards (31st), 9 rushing TDs (24th)

2016: 1814 rushing yards (10th), 16 rushing TDs (10th)

2016 without Cam Newton: 1455 rushing yards (29th), 11 rushing TDs (20th)

2015: 2282 rushing yards (2nd), 19 rushing TDs (1st)

2015 without Cam Newton: 1646 rushing yards (18th), 10 rushing TDs (18th)

2014: 2036 rushing yards (7th), 10 rushing TDs (21st)

2014 without Cam Newton: 1497 rushing yards (25th), 5 rushing TDs (31st)

2013: 2026 rushing yards (11th), 14 rushing TDs (13th)

2013 without Cam Newton: 1441 rushing yards (26th), 8 rushing TDs (27th)

2012: 2088 rushing yards (9th), 21 rushing TDs (3rd)

2012 without Cam Newton: 1347 rushing yards (31st), 13 rushing TDs (12th)

2011: 2408 rushing yards (3rd), 26 rushing TDs (1st)

2011 without Cam Newton: 1702 rushing yards (22nd), 12 rushing TDs (16th)

I think it’s hilarious how you try to figure out what Cam meant with that comment. Only Cam knows.  Reading some of these comments is like watching any main stream news about any topic, slanted to fit whatever you want to think or your opinion.

You sir have just demonstrated while we need to either:

a) overhaul/improve our O-line by bringing in some new talent

Or

b) change are running scheme so we can optimize the talent of the current lineman.

What we can't do is expect to get any better running the ball next season if continue with the status quo.

Basically all the more reason to surround Cam with Receivers and open up the run game that way. Let Newton rip though the NFL in the air.

I was having a discussion with a fellow Panther about what you posted this morning. We both agree with your opinion.

I know Elite WR's don't grow on trees, but can you imagine if we had a bonafide  #1 WR (ex: Smitty, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones) and Devin as our 2nd option? Add Olsen to the mix and Christian out of the back field, we'd have the potential to carve up defenses all day long thru the air, which in turn would also open up the running game.

IMO and a bunch will disagree Cam is on the level of Brees and Brady right now. Give him a decent line (and we have one now) and guy's that can catch the ball and he will give you as many SBs as you want. Give him no one and you will still make it to the playoffs. Players like Matt Ryan need great WRs. Cam just needs a few good ones.
