Danny was the president and over the business side yes, but she is the COO of the Panthers. She started overseeing it all (supposedly) when Jerry stepped away not just the business side of things.  

I could have swore I heard or read that she stated that extending Ron was her first big move in that role. Neither here nor there I suppose.
