We're picking 24th in the 1st round

Safety is definitely #1 priority, lets put things in perspective. Kurt Coleman has not looked to great this year and has become a liability. And on the other hand Mike Adams is 36 and nearing the end of his career. And the funniest part is there is zero depth behind two players who need to be replaced within the next year or two. To everyone talking about getting a receiver early in the draft, we have Byrd who honestly looks like he could be a very legitimate deep threat who at the same time has reliable hands unlike ( Ted Ginn Jr). And lets not forget about our last years second round pick Curtis Samuel who could very well be a great wr2 we definitely have not been shown enough to make a full on opinon of him. I would be perfectly fine drafting a receiver from 3rd-7th round but before that I would consider it a waste of a pick.

Neither of those guys are #1s. We need a stud number 1. I’m ok with stud draft pick, Funchess, Samuel, Byrd, mid round draft pick as our WR corps. If we ever have to start a player of Russell Shepherd quality ever again, the GM responsible should be fired on the spot. And then taken out back and put out of his misery. Funchess is not a #1. He’s a decent #2. Byrd is a decent Ginn type, but that should be your #3, not 2 or 1. Samuel might turn out decent, I’ve had high hopes for him and actually said he was who I wanted in round 2 after round 1 was over. But he hasn’t proven it yet, and he could very well just be another Byrd. And I’m ok keeping two of that sort of WR toward the bottom of the depth chart.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you, but you need to fill the more glaring holes first before going after more luxury type of picks. And don't be fooled round 3 wr talent tends to actually be almost just as good as round 1 talent. Lets look at last years WR class and what you see is all of those round #1 wrs were over drafted and Juju Smith- Schuester fell to the third round where the steelers snagged him. Also after watching Matt Kalil look like a window for pass rushers, how is Cam even going to attempt to throw a pass with the amount of time he receives from the left side.

None of our WRs are as good as anyone wants to make them. They all should be pushed down the depth chart by at least one spot and should have to fight for the spot they are pushed down to.

And this run game needs to be re-planned. We need a three-down RB with burst to complement CMac. Give me Christian Kirk and Sony Michel in the first two rounds.

WR, RB, OT, S, DE

Prolly in that order. Another WR, DB in FA.

Top needs

  1. Saftey (Both SS + FS preferably, secondary needs a massive upgrade)
  2. LT (Matt Kalil is a ridiculous liability )
  3. WR (obvious)
  4. DE (need to get younger)

.......... (next up are more wants than needs )

     5. RB (Need a young power back to replace stewart  6. TE ( need a young TE to replace Olsen ) 7 . Center (Need a young center to replace R.Kalil)

  • I would like to see us focus particularly on saftey and DE in the draft
  • I would like to see us focus on WR in free agency

no damn way man. Weve been ignorning saftey for years and every team gets whatever they want deep or over the middle against us. I'd say its either tied with WR as our greatest weakness, or if not then it is the worst part of the team personell wise.

Coleman is a god damn scrub and Adams is old as hell. Both FS and SS need young replacements

I think with the talent level of this team we over achieved this year in terms of record and making the playoffs , we really should be picking closer to the middle of the pack , but oh well.

Hoping that Bills extra 3rd comes in handy , possibly for a 2nd round trade up for a really good player

saftey is a horrible problem and we need at least 2

WR is the biggest problem on this team and by giving Cam real WR he’ll be able to mask a lot of problems including the ones on defense.

Obviously safety is a need though, I’ve never liked Coleman but Cam with real WR gets this team a lot further than prioritizing the safety position over them.

Safety can be a top need, but that doesn't mean we will be in a good position to take one early. I think everyone agrees it needs to be addressed, but picking one in the first two rounds? You can find young guys with talent in Rds 3-5, especially when the backbone of our defense is upfront. We just need not do what we have been doing which is not address safety AT ALL or just get a 1-year aging vet.

The top of our draft needs specific positions to be of significant talent to make a difference like WR, RB, OT, DE. There are only 2-3 safeties worthy of really high pick in this draft, and they will be off the board when we pick.
