Who says it was called for him?

Usually your first read is.

I'm not rewinding that POS to see but that play didn't take long and Cam wasn't scanning for a bit, he dropped back and threw it....so.....yea....

Shula is a joke, but our defense gave up 31 and were grabbing their ankles all game. I feel like Shula is the whipping boy but our defense is equally as awful and gets a pass.

How about our running game?

67 yards on 17 carries by our running backs.

39 of those yards were on 2 Stewart carries, so the rest of the run game was 28 yards on 15 carries.

In case I have to remind you, Ron Rivera's philosophy to win games is to "run the ball and play defense".

How's that working out for Carolina?  (I know its fuging killing Cam Newton  though.)

shula s/b fired when he pulled Olsen & McCaffey-telegraphing the run on the 7 or so---stupidest GD play i've ever seen

That play isn't unique though.

We see play designs that send two, (occasionally even three) receivers to the same place all the time.

It's part of the playbook.

Also instead of batting down an interception our retarded ass S wastes time off the clock because he's a god damn retard.

This.  How in the hell did coaching not literally scream that a swatted pass is preferable to any potential INT?  Seriously, how does not get done?  Now do any of the Rivera lovers understand why some of us think he's a moron?  Even if it was Wilks responsibility to get it out to the players, it's Rivera's responsibility to mention to Wilks "hey, make sure you remind everyone to bat down passes".  Of course, our mensa-level HC has no time for that.  Man, I'm glad this poo season is over...

I'm not the one making the claim so it's not on me to provide evidence. Regardless, that was hardly the 'definitive' play of the game. So many other opportunities throughout the night.

Think about this folks. Before our second play of our first offensive possession we call a mutha fuggin time out. I can't process or digest that. Most teams have their first 10-12 plays scripted. We have a week to prepare for team we play twice a year and that's kicked our ass twice this year. We're ready to run ONE FUGGIN PLAY??? Are you kidding me??? And Shula is a professionally paid Offensive Coordinator. This shows you everything you need to know about our coaching staff. It also should explain why we are so damn inconsistent.

They legitimately found a way to handle the Saints run game. Other teams will probably watch the film and look at what they did.

Didn't do enough to stop Brees though.

Yeah but let’s say I am a boxer and I am going to fight a guy who is notorious for knocking people out with shots to the head. I protect and don’t let him hit me in the head the whole fight, but he kicks the living poo out of me with body shots. I get so winded that he finally knocks me out Tyson style with a kidney shot. Do I get credit for not letting him head punch me? No, not at all.

Our D sold out to stop their run game while Drew Brees shredded them up and down the field all game. They shouldn’t get milkshakes and lollipops for their effort when they got their asses whooped.

In fact, I’ll take it a step further and say that Shula’s squad outperformed Wilks squad by leaps and bounds today. 26 is not a bad day offensively. 31 is grounds for dismissal defensively.

Our D keeps getting this pass but they are awful, have been awful, and if allowed to choose between stopping the run or the pass instead of expecting them to stop both, will continue to be awful.

I want Shula gone as much as the next guy, but our offense, with no turnovers mind you, did manage to spend the entire game in Saints territory while our defense spent the entire game with Drew Brees nuts in their mouth.

Don’t get me wrong, our offense is poo. I’m simply saying that there is a disproportionate amount of hate for the offense when our defense is equally bad.

Especially considering all of the picks we use on the defense, defensive HC.

It wasn't good enough.

They solved part of the puzzle, but not the whole puzzle. You don't get to win the game unless you solve the whole puzzle

I was agreeing with you, of course.

My only point was to point out that Rivera's philosophy in general, as his coaches implement and execute it, is garbage from top to bottom.
