Uh, he actually showed that he is a #1 receiver. Playing with one arm, covered by one of the young CBs in the game, and with safety help, still came down with a number of big catches. That's exactly what a #1 WR does.

KB caught many TDs just like that and or with people all over him or near him.

Catching contested catches isn't KBs problem.

Jump balls sure, but planting your foot and coming back to the ball was not his forte. Funchess is quicker off the line of scrimmage than KB so the Saints CB overran the ball as a result. With KB there is no chance of him blowing past you so the CB probably would have stayed back and picked it off.
