What if a team tied every game they played?

In the words of the Reverend Jackson, the question is moot.

This is a good reason to just play the damn game until someone wins. Every game, not just the playoffs.

Given that before the Eagles game, the last tie was in 2002, not much liklihood it will happen this season yet alone more than once in a season for a particular team.

Actually you can divide by zero. The answer is considered indeterminate not undefined as some mathematicians postulate. This is because the answer could be different depending on the numerator or operation employed.

mathematically speaking using normal arithmetic like you had done and not some sort of mutant creation this isolated group of mathematicians you're referencing use dividing zero by itself does not give you a value, and certainly does not equate to .000.

just how many posts will it take for you to concede your error?

Interesting

11 ties between 1974 and 1989

Then 0 for 8 years until there were 2 in 1997

and only 2 since then 2002 and 2008

The NFL has done a very good job of limiting the number of tie scores to which teams play, from sudden death overtime instituted in 1974, to two point conversions (adopted in 1994).

so the 2 pt conversion is the reason for less ties these days?

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, and Houston Texans are the only franchises without a tie in their history
