Only 1 team in the last 18 years has won a SuperBowl with a receiving group as awful as ours. The 2000 Baltimore Ravens

Tate and Funch are a wash.

That's just wrong and I hate that damn golden domer. Golden tate has led the league in broken tackles for a WR the past two seasons.

in the four seasons he has played with the lions he has put up over 4,000 receiving yards and 20 TD's. He and Funchess are not in the same stratosphere.

We’re talking about 2013 Golden Tate and current Funch.

Not so sure the '13 Hawks' receiving group was much better than ours now... Doug Baldwin was young and has improved a ton year to year, he wasn't really that good then. Tate and Funch are a wash. They had Harvin but he wasn't involved on offense at all. Great running game with Lynch. But no good TE, which is where Olsen makes our receiving group probably better than theirs that year.

Doug Baldwin has always been good,  even if no one realized it,  as has Golden Tate.  Doug Baldwin is a flat out beast,  and he showed the signs back then.

I remember people laughing at the thought of both Tate and Baldwin. Bet they aren't laughing now. I said it back when that both were smart, intelligent  route runners.  Baldwin can find the open space, and helps Wilson out a bunch by providing a consistent target even when a play breaks down.  We missed the boat on them.

Some of you are never going to get it.  TEs and RBs are NOT WRs! They're just not.  They are complements and create mismatches because of the legit threat of competent WRs.  It's that simple.

Gronk isn't a legit threat, he's a complementary piece. It's that simple.

Sorry,  Gronk is in a league of his own.  But it would be interesting to see him work amid a group of bench warmers and/or practice squad receivers.

Perspective is important.

They should have done more, considering our history.  Samuel was hurt essentially all the off-season,  and Byrd is naturally smaller than one would like.

He has. Numerous times. And sorry but Greg is in Gronk's league as a receiver threat. Hands down no debate at all. Where Gronk is in a league of his own is his combined expertise as a blocker and receiver. Greg is right up there as a receiving threat and a solid blocker but nowhere near the elite blocker Gronk is.

Yep - start of the season this place was filled with "how will anyone possibly stop us with this many weapons? Who will they cover?" (Mostly after viewing all Saca's hype videos)

Now it's back to - Damn the GM's, we have no weapons. We were doomed from the get go.

Byrd is basically the same size as Smitty at this point, and way bigger than DeSean Jackson, who many have clamored for here. And come on... Samuel getting hurt well after the draft and FA had no bearing on moves that could've been made at WR when there were actual options available.

If you simply look at those names objectively (without any homer glasses or inflated sense of their worth),  you just can't say that there were ANY exclamation points (save for maybe,  KB).  It's a corps full of question marks. I wouldn't have gone into the season like that. One more vet would have been nice.
