I'm Going Vegan...

Do it for 2-3 months, your first month your body will be adjusting to the change, and there may be some unpleasant side affects at first due to the body detoxing, you will realize how much crap you eat when you do, after you get through it you may feel the best you've ever felt.

I've never gone Vegan, but I have gone clean eating before, no fried foods, sodas, processed foods and limit breads and pastas exct....

I eat backyard eggs and chicken for protein and have always done well with that.

I'm not going completely vegan but increasing the amount of veggies and decreasing carbs and red meat. If the body doesn't get any of the latter two it will mess up metabolism.

I've started drinking over 2000 ml of water per day and that's helped me drop 3lbs since Christmas

Been Vegan about 80% of the time for roughly 8-9 months. Sometimes I “cheat” and I’ll have cheese or chicken but it has absolutely changed my eating habits; likely  permanently. I avoid red meat, have drastically increased my fruit and vegatable intake, and feel better than I ever have. Dropped about 30 pounds strictly just eating vegan. 

As for recipes? I suggest finding a handful of different veggie burgers you like and find satisfying. Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s have some great options. Hopefully you like beans and lentils, quinoa, and avocado. Countless great recipes on the web that are satisfying and filling  

If you don’t already have one, I’d invest in a quality blender. A great breakfast and dessert shake that usually satisfies my cravings for sweets is the following:

8 oz. almond or dark chocolate almond milk

1 whole banana

A large handful or two of ice for desired thickness 

1 heaping scoop of peanut butter 

1 scoop Vegasport clean protein

It is high in calories and protein, healthy fats, but tastes amazing once you get the ratios of ingredients down but it usually holds me over to lunch without a problem. I have one almost every day.

I’m in more of a keto diet and down close to 30 pounds since Halloween.  I don’t want to say it’s effortless but it’s been pretty easy after “making the decision”. 

I think it’s all about for being something you can live with and stick to.  I eat a lot of fish and spinach.   Still do some red meat but I think my veggie intake is better now than before and carbs are minimal.

I’ve now lost 140 pounds with Keto and IF. I’m off all my meds, all my biomarkers for disease are improved. So, the fallacy of the dangers of carb restriction are once again shown. 

Like you eluded to, diets have to have several components to be successful and one is sustainability. I love all the stuff that I can eat on Keto. I had a 1.3 lb ribeye for breakfast yesterday cook in real butter with a mushroom blend and 2 fried eggs. Today it was my normal 4 fried eggs and I’m going to fast until 3:45’ish tomorrow. The benefits are overwhelming, the sustainability for me is a no brainer, my Dr has completely reversed her thoughts on carb restriction and actually recommended it to my brother. He is down to his high school weight and no longer needs his BP meds. 

So much bad info out there.

Super Simple vegan sandwich

  • Wheat bread  or Pita Bread
  • Avocado or hummus
  • Alfalfa sprouts
  • Radish
  • Cucumber
  • Shredded carrot
  • Squeeze of lemon juice

I’m not a vegan but I have been playing around a lot with different vegan dishes myself lately, I usually get a lot of requests for vegan dishes this time of year as people start there news year’s resolutions, thinking it’s a magic bullet for weight loss.
