Exactly.  Crazy stupid of him to blow it already.  Even if he is the pompous jackass that his comments indicate, it was better to remain silent at this point and be called a fool than to open his mouth and remove all doubt.

I've been telling you, he didn't blow it. It's what the NFL wants. Every team to have a stadium near 1b or over in worth. The LA moves, the LV move, the potential Buffalo move... all because of 1-2b dollar stadiums. Goodell promised owners league would be worth 27b in 2027 and stadiums are the key to that. It's really the only way they hit that mark tbh.

The Cowboys are worth nearly 5b and over half of that is tied into the 1.5b training facility and the 1.3b stadium.

so... how is there not enough room for parking.... there is tons of empty lots, run down buildings in Charlotte near the stadium... either buy them, lease them, or create the spots.... Heck... You can build a Yuge parking deck...

Tons of space between South Church, Stonewall and Mint St..

Tons of space where the Greyhounds bus parking is.. Between 4th and Trade..

there is room for a spots behind the Foundry...

They want it directly around the stadium, and within their control so they can charge what they want,

Any business would love additional public handouts, not just the regressing NFL.  Local government has zero reason to cave-just the opposite in fact-public outrage if they do.

local government has plenty of reasons to cave, New owners coming in, teams lease being up in 2019. NFL being all about the bottom line and about money, the fact BOA needs to be updated even more to near the top of the league in innovation and fan experience. It's really outdated now and the new owners will want it updated if not a new stadium all together no matter who buys it.  Then add in that the last lease was 6 years and costed the city of Charlotte 90m dollars. What do you think the new owners are going to want?

I'd wager 300-400m for 25 years so they can build a new stadium.

That's on par with what other cities have gotten.

Yes it is. As for the PSL's owners, they'll get an option to move them over to the new stadium for the price difference plus the cost of tickets for the season. Those who don't move will have thier PSL's added to the open seat list to be sold to the public, add in more corporate box seats and the PSL's for those plus additional naming rights and you'll end up with 900m in fund generated by the city, fans and sponsors, NFL pitches in 150m and the new owners take the overhead cost. Bam, New 1.3b stadium somewhere on the outskirts or Charlotte and team is stuck in a lease for 25-30 years paying 2-3 m a season to the city.

Fugging horse hockey.  Felix the jackass already hinted that his template was a Minnesota’like situation here-a long liberal stronghold that TRULY had no choice-a state with 10 million less people than the Carolinas (and growing at a far lesser clip), the very real threat of LA yet to be filled, and the 30 year old Metrodump that did this

NONE of these things are comparable to our situation now.

Also, the state of Minnesota had to cough up $348 million (FAT chance that happens here, bwahahahaha), and the city of Minneapolis will pay $678 million over 30 years.

To borrow a quote from Patrick Swayze in Road House, Felix the jackass needs to “take the train” and get out of our sight.
