The rumors were out before the JR thing. It was more along the lines of the Bears being a dream job and his contract coming to an end in Carolina. I would think the uncertainty of our future ownership and GM coupled with a bad performance against the Saints might increase the chances (but that last part is just me speculating)

It's a reasonable speculation.

They've already started interviewing though. If he wanted to be in on that job, it would have to be soon.

Granted, it is possible he could make some backdoor contacts and say "hey if you guys just give me a week or two..."
