yea, most teams need their QBs to be at least pretty good to win unless you have a defense like the Jags who can score multiple touchdowns themselves.

If he's cut, the contract stays with the Bucs, including all monies...unless there is offset language.

They would save 3.5M by cutting him, but he would cost them 7.5 in dead that can be spread out over 2 seasons.

then that doesnt sound like it wouldve been worth it to cut him unless he had serious behavior issues

I don't have time to dig into their salary cap situation moving forward...but you are correct.  Unless he has locker room issues, I can't imagine them wanting to take away one of Winston's toys when they are trying to figure out if he's the deal or not.
