Mike Shula Q&A

This is a normal q&a, I said it earlier this year I can’t honestly expect a top 15 offense with this current roster. All our offensive players are two streaky, remember when you could count on steve smith to bust yo ass every sunday? Cam doesn’t have a player like that on offesne. So I’m not faulting cam nor shula for the lack of talent in the wr department, even rb department

Im so sick an tired of completely botching 1st and 2nd downs just to have Cam in a situation where we need him to make some type of play to convert on 3 and long again and again. IF YOU ARE A RUN FIRST TEAM THERE IS NO REASON WHY YOU SHOULD CONSTANTLY BE IN 3RD AND LONG SITUATIONS. Those are tendencies of a passing team. Also you cant be to much of gimmicky type offense a long with it because gimmicks either work or crash and burn completely which sets up situatuons you dont wont to be in. Its seems like after  7 seasons will still dont have an identity set by the coaches and that normally would  warrant a cleaning of house by any other competent organization.

6. On how he's lasted in the NFL over a decade?

Well I've been riding my dad's coattails. The NFL isn't an innovative league, if you come from a football family name like Shula, Ryan, Phillips you're going to get opportunities in this league and even if you're mediocre, you'll still hang on a few extra seasons cause of your last name

I feel sorry for the defense who played their ass off while the offense was poo

Like maybe going no-huddle which you never seem to want to do, Mike?

This cuts through a lot of the inane crap of this thread and is a completely valid question.  We went no-huddle a lot in 2015, even if we though we generally didn't hike the ball until late in the playclock

It was extremely successful.  It prevented defensive substitutions so we could get mismatches, it put pressure on the defenses to be in their stances longer, and it gave Cam longer to survey the field and/or make changes.

Most importantly, it set the tone that we were going to dictate what our offense was going to do, not the other way around.

The offense has projected confidence on certain drives and during certain games, but game-in & game-out they seem to be reactive than proactive.

Some of it has definitely been affected by losing players (Olsen, KB, Samuel, Byrd, etc.), but that is a valid question about the preparedness of the offense, which falls on Shula.  A lot of this thread is just bitching without any specifics thing that can reasonably be corrected or implemented in the playoffs.

If we are run first offense how can our lead back get only 6 carries?

FOH you know damn well when Cam has a bad game you wish the Panthers find a new QB. Anybody that support Mike Shula isn't a real fan or is just clueless about football.

7 for 7 with that same OC when the QB is accurate and on time!!

How are we supposed to play fast when we're not breaking the huddle until there's under 15 seconds on the play clock? Hell, we weren't even playing fast late yesterday when we were down two scores.

Shula has one speed, Sloth.

Why are two WRs running curl routes about 3 feet apart. This and more mysteries up next.
