Sad admission from Cam

We could argue about Cam Newton's accuracy until we're blue in the face. I think most of us can agree he clearly had an off game. But here's the thing. You know what helps significantly in that situation? Actually having some semblance of a run game. We had pretty much nothing, zilch, nada. Cam Newton carried our run game all season along with passing the ball 20 or 30 times a game. Well, finally things collapsed. I don't know how many times I can or have to say it, but this team desperately needs someone, anyone on offense not named Cam Newton to step up. Not only did no one else step up, they had their share of contributing gaffes along with Cam. We're lucky we weren't completely blown out. But people here want to rant about how Cam Newton is above criticism? Clearly they are watching something different from me.

This is what happens when your depth is basically a bunch of PS guys.   If you look at the Steelers for example, their depth is rock solid w Juju, Martavis Bryant and Eli Rogers.  All of those guys save maybe Rogers would immediately be a #1 here.  Any of our guys behind Funch would be a WR4 or 5 on most teams and that's being generous.  This is something that needs to be addressed in the offseason.  We can't be averse to pursuing a guy with more cache either.  Injuries have bent us over the barrel but you're only as strong as your weakest link.  Shula also is not helping matters and needs to be shown the door but that's been a running theme for years now.

Cam hit McCaffery right in the hands TWICE yesterday and he flat out dropped both of them.

If you don’t know what you’re watching on Sundays (clearly you don’t) maybe just stand on the sidelines and lurk.

Too many here act as if Cam needing to pick up every single yard this team gets is going to have no bearing on other parts of his game. Like Cam isn’t going to get tired or Cam knows he needs to fit the ball into these imaginary windows because he’s WR’s suck.

Yesterday on the TD drive I believe, Cam turned and gave the ball to CAP two times in a row. 2 & 1 for no gain and then 3rd & 1 for no gain. Cam is then forced to go plow ahead to pick up the 1st on 4th down. Do you not realize how damn pathetic that is? So instead of being able to conserve his energy like almost any other QB does in this situation, Cam has to go pick up the yard himself and take a hit.

So now this Sunday Cam will be sent into the dome where he’ll be asked to score 30 points with Bersin, Clay, Shepard and Frazier at WR! Plus a guy we spent the 8th overall pick on who has been really bad this last month... But let’s blame Cam next Monday because “Cam does more with less”...

At least two WRs are needed.  Probably 3 and one of them a number 1 with speed.

Either need to draft a real WR in the draft with our 1st pick, or pick up a proven vet in FA. No more projects or mid/late round picks on the position

Armah needs to be active Sunday and we need to run the ball nearly everytime. We’re going to have to try to play keep away and win this game 17-14 if we want any shot.

He was active this last game and wasn't utilized.

When all else fails resort back to Cam sucks!

Well, he did

as did his OC, his receivers and his running backs

and his head coach for sayi g 'it's just one game'

well Ron, no it wasn't.

Win and you have a better seeding and a home playoff game

instead, ole humptity dump Ron 'I'm just glad to be here' Rivera embarrassed itself in front of a large national audience  again

Errrmmm...who was playing LT? Cherry picking is pathetic. Judging by your name tho...

Gross was better sure but the rest of the line is as good or better now. We have probowl level guards. Protection was not the issue yesterday. Judging by your avatar tho....

I’m trying to make a logical discussion but Yur point seems to be that cmc is a failure. If we would use him more as a runner in the I formation cam could do more play action but it is useless triying to persuade you.  take care

The team philosophy is just trash. Rivera lives in the past far as how he wants this team to be. This isnt the fuging 80s anymore.

Every year it's the same sad song

sick of it

Pats have played with no name receivers for a very long time

it is a simple game

we have a coordinator who makes it hard and a QB that in some days could not hit the Grand Canyon if he was standing on it

and that is the truth

this is pretty much it

I think we'll see some positive change at some point but its going to take a long while I'm guessing. Rivera and Shula are probably comfortably tucked away in their positions as long as they dont have back to back losing seasons and at age 28 going on 29 into next season,

Cams not going to magically get very accurate. He finished the season right around his career average, right about 59% completion rate. and Cams career high completion rate is still 62% from 2013. He's never even sniffed 65% much less 70%

Not unless our new owner is a maverick and makes changes happen fast if we arent producing next year, then expect to see more of the same for at least 4 to 6 more seasons.
