He is slated to make $24 million next season for this.  He's great at times but it's clear this is the elephant in the room with this team moving forward.  We're paying him more than more than two-thirds of the starting 2s in the league.

It has all the markings of a guy that got his mega payday and relaxed, quit working, and wants to care, but just doesn't.  He's a good guy, but he just doesn't seem to be invested anymore and has been horrible for awhile now.  In the past, we knew we could count on him to hit one of those midranges or a contested quick pull up 3 rolling off of a screen, but he doesnt so that anymore.  Everytime i watch our games now (which is becoming less and less often), he is bricking and turning the ball over non-stop.  Good luck moving that contract.  He was considered an intangibles guy that could do all of the little things and wad really god at everything...  now, he's just a walking minus who isn't really good at anything and doesnt seem to have a good feel for what's going on around him.  He looks bad.

His contract, softness, and inconsistencies are in part holding this team back.  For real.   5 year, 120 million all guaranteed.

I hate to place so much blame on one guy because we have a coaching issue, GM issue, and a roster full of role players, but it's true.

Between our 2 and 3, with Batum playing poorly, we have MKG who can't hit from 3 (or inside lol) and Lamb (solid).  We shipped Monk to the G-League and are playing Treveon f*cking Graham.  Don't forget, our second PG can't shoot either.

The situation at 1, 2, and 3 has to be the worst in the league even with Kemba and Lamb.

I distinctly remember Blazers' fans were very much in the same boat with Batum.  Coming into the league he was so highly touted with his measurables and 2-3 mold, he would show up sometimes and in great flashes.  He drew insane comparisons I won't even mention.  They however realized he was more of a role player and McCollum rose above him and found us wanting to bite.  We thought he may break through, it didn't happen.

He's a decent 6th man when he plays well but is our starting 2, hogging cap, and un-tradable.

He was 4-14 and 1-7 from 3 last night.  Finding offense needs to be a priority and right now.

Agreed.

The only way to move him will be a package with someone like Frank and we'd have to take on another teams bad contract, I.E. Deng, Delledova, George Hill, Parsons, etc.

So, what overpaid vet would we be ok with? haha

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
