Moose to number three?

Mr. Scot

Gantt thinks they should: Panthers shouldn't look to Moose

We've talked before about Moose taking on the "Ricky Proehl" position. An idea which seems good, until you realize that it means elevating an unproven player to the number two role.

Wondering how many like this idea, and if so who do you elevate?

- Dwayne Jarrett

- Kenny Moore

- Dante Rosario (from the TE spot)

Keep in mind, you also have to replace Moose as a blocker, not just as a receiver.

Dumb idea. The only possibility would be Moore, but he needs some experience as a regular third receiver before we think about starting him.

100% agree. I wish someone would tell us why Moore is being used exclusively for ST when he showed so much promise in preseason. He would be ideal IMO for the #3 WR spot (similar to Ricky Proehl). I swear our coaching staff is clueless when it comes to running a competent offense.

im torn on dante to wr tho. but that does allow your true three best to be in wr slots. Dante might now start getting more attention especially in the seam which seems to be so open every play.

King as the TE could be a better safety valve.

But Moore and SS need to get thier hands on the rock more.

It would have to be Moore.

One big issue with our passing game is that we usually only use two WR's...and Moose is slow. We need another book-end to Smitty that can create separation and stretch the field.

I would vote for Moore.

It's bewildering that our offensive playcalling is so limited. We absolutely need more 3 WR sets and we have 3 good pass catching TEs that can stretch the field and its not like we don't have the weapons to do it. Moose may be slower due to age, but he's still a great blocker and decent possession WR. Moore should enough promise in preseason to at least get a shot at the slot WR spot and Goodson was supposed to be a good #3 RB that could receive very well. However, both of them are underutilized. If we could use more 3 WR set or our TE more, or even design some plays for Goodson, this would help our running game tremendously. We've got to somehow get our offensive problems fixed, and fast, if we are to salvage the season. What we're doing now is not working effectively or consistently enough.

    • He ain't singing another 1 year $4M deal. He needed to get out of here to show what he could do and he has. Now clue about the Commander's cap situation but they should lock him up.
    • Cam's been on record multiple times publically showing displeasure with many of the moves and decision made in the Tepper era starting with Matt Rhule. We all knew Cam's second stint was a PR stunt during a lost season to help drive some fan excitement. But Cam has stated that he was set up for failure by Tepper/Rhule when he was starting just a week after resigning w/o knowing any of the playbook. Then Joe Brady was fired midseason just as they were game planning over the bye week. Plus Sam Darnold's beef/jealousy when Cam was resigned. Cam has also stated how Tepper/front office/and coaching staff has failed regarding the development of Bryce Young. Cam has also directly said he wanted to be Panther's president in order to help with marketing and driving fan's interest which Tepper has likely ignored.  We all know that Tepper is the petty type specifically buying his former boss's house and demolishing it afterwards, having beef with reporters, throwing drinks at fans, etc.
    • Could not agree more, he has the frame to add LB bulk. His biggest strength is playing near the LOS, great pursuit and closing speed. Man, it pains me that we let him go entering his prime, he signed a 1 year 4 mill contract. Ian Thomas, Shy Tuttle, Ashawn Robinson, Miles Sanders,  Josh Yijiam, etc so many over paid players and we don’t pay young talent.
