Crabtree is proven, not over the hill, and has been underrated his entire career.  Honestly, I thought he outplayed Cooper at times.

I'm usually hesitant with the ~30 y/o WRs, but he just hit 30 and has 3-4 solid years left.  I'd take him in a heartbeat if the fit seemed right.

He would be a nice stop gap option until we can draft a replacement. I do wonder if he will be affordable.

I just hope our current or future front office considers WR a priority. I have a sneaking suspicion they won't.

Barring a SB run that helps cement the coaching staff and top talent, we really won't know our direction anywhere from GM to coaching to personnel.  We are pretty much a frozen team/organization until Feb/March when the ownership transition will likely occur.

If the transition happens that close to the draft, I wonder if we will see a major turnover in our front office prior to the draft. Seems like that could be kind of dicey. The uncertainty will be tough to stomach, that is for sure.

I actually have been wanting to start a thread about that but wanted to wait until after the season.

The ownership transition in regards to management/drafting is huge given that window between the sale and draft.

If the new cat doesn't want Hurney, will we phase him out and let him draft?...or just keep Jeff Morrow in place to work with a new GM?  It's an interesting scenario/timeline.

I rather sign Allen Robinson but may cost too much. I wouldn't be surprised Panthers sign Terrell Pryor to save money.

this WR FA class will the best one in some years. Couple that with the poor WR draft class, the fact that we drafted a WR in the last 3/4 drafts, Byrd and Clays emergence and Samuel returning next year, we really dont need to draft one. What we need is a veteran dude that catches well and runs good routes.

Not sure what kind of WR Crabtree is, I dont watch the raiders much and I didnt watch him that much when he was with the 49ers. Will have to do some research.

I guess he's not super old, he'll be 31 heading into next season.

Yeah, we are getting way ahead of the priorities(today's game, playoffs, ownership transfer) but I have some definite trepidation about the offseason.

Agreed. I'd greatly prefer a proven vet FA over yet another draft pick.

You have to see if he would actually do that though. I mean if he joins a team prepping for a SB run what is he really going to say/do. He'll be dictated to and told what to do and to shut his mouth....I think our team leaders can handle that guy.

Still not sure about it but we should be bringing in WR to help.
