Because you're going to need something to do after the game at the Mercedes-Benz Dome.

First things first? Leaving the game at 8:30 or later, it's going to be near freezing - and with a bit of breeze in the air, it's going to feel colder than what the thermometer says. Be sure to bundle up!

The Marshalling Yard parking lot, home of the Roaring Riot tailgate, is about .7 miles from the MBDome. Not exactly next door, and with the GADome demolition, the walk may be a bit longer than even that.

If you're the kind of person who likes to watch giant asses fall from the sky, the annual Peach Drop will be taking place in Woodruff Park, just a quick jaunt up the street a few blocks from the Dome at the corner of Peachtree and Marietta (a block or so north of the 5 Points MARTA station). You may recognize this park as where Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman urinated in a fountain. Alas, that was movie magic, and the fountain was a prop made out of styrofoam. Other films shot at or near the park include Anchorman 2 and the first season of The Walking Dead (insert your own Falcons fan joke here).

If you do decide to brave the cold to see a crowd of people drunkingly count down from 54 to 3 (the Peach Drop has a history of being just a little bit off on the midnight timing), you'll also get to experience the world-class entertainment talent of Jeezy, 2/3 of TLC*, and Tyrese.

LYFT is the official rideshare partner of the MBDome, and has two designated pickup zones. The larger one is outside of Gate 1 (follow the signs) off Northside Drive. The smaller one is near Centennial Olympic Park which is better accessed from Gates 2-3-4. More info http://mercedesbenzstadium.com/parking-and-transportation/lyft/

Food/Beverage at MBDome is above average for stadium food, and prices are in line with what you'd pay outside the building. Beers, water, hot dogs are cheap cheap cheap. There's artwork all over the place, so feel free to gawk.  Outside-managed Food/Bev locations (like the phenom Farmburger) will have higher prices for food/bev than a Dome-owned location. Other than Farmburger - be on the lookout for Antico Pizza, Delia's Chicken Sausage, Fox Bros BBQ, Gamechanger.  Feel free to avoid The Varsity - unless you have a solid digestive system LOL.

 

(*apologies in advance for the probably insensitive TLC joke above, as the band chose to soldier on as a duo after the unfortunate death of Left Eye in 2002.)
