Word is Steve Wilks Might Become HC Under Giants Newly Hired GM - David Gettleman

So it looks like we'll have Panthers' satellite teams upstate and in the Big Apple haha

....but...I wouldn't put much stock in Wilks.  He's an easy target for outsiders to connect dots with but DG didn't pick the coaches that were in place when he arrived.  This is his first chance at that.

I think Wilks is OK, but we just made the Bucs look like the Patriots in their prime. Receivers wide open and missed tackles. Maybe the next month is his chance to show he is ready. Win a SB and you can guarantee he will be a head coach somewhere next year.

Who, other than people on here, said this?

Wilks is not good.

Wilks has only been a coordinater for a year, and has the defense in the top 10. Top 10 with a secondary that’s not very good. People preach on how it would be foolish to give up on players or coaches after a year, what makes this situation different

Part of the reason this secondary’s not very good is how predictable Wilks is with 3rd down blitzing. Most offenses counter quite easily and stress the secondary to do the impossible.

Well, obviously there’s got to be a reason he’s blitzing so much. Maybe it could be to mask for the secondary not being as good as you and others think. Hell, Bradberry can’t even turn around around when the ball is in the air. No need to trust him on a receiver for too long. Worley is the king of PI’s. He’s having trouble staying on his man, so you don’t want him left with a receiver too long. Coleman has clearly regressed, and it’s quite clear Norman (the guy Wilks helped molded) made him.

Wilks has made some questionable decisions, but to say he’s not good is asinine. His defense is still top 10

The blitz would be just fugin fine if the DBs weren't 36.7 yards off the LOS.....literally any person with 1 arm could complete passes to the WR with that much space....
