thats why i said..a better project plus you know the steelers history in taking late round Dlinemen

So you're going on Steelers' reputation alone. okay

I'm not sticking up for Hayden. Just trying to grasp your logic and I don't see any. I guess my thinking is that Hayden is a Panther and Harris is not. So if I had to declare, I'd support Hayden.

Ignore me. :D

:mad:Seemed like Harris had potential, didn't he kickass playing for the Steelers in preseason?Could have been a hidden gem, exactly what the Panthers needed on D!Instead,Fox sticks w/Hayden!Should of put Hayden on the ps and Harris on the roster!

Don't think he is elible for PS.

Any team can sign a PS player to there Roster but the Panthers have the oppourtinuity to match there offer and bring him up to the 53. So I guess a player that has shown next to no potential (in 2 seasons) gets the nod over a guy that has shown potential all preseason. Smart move FO.

The signing of Harris and trading for Lenoard had me excited about the DT postion, something I have not been able to do since Jenkins was traded (another dumb move, not the trade itself that was necessary but the fact that they had no one really to take his place). It started to make me hate Hurney less but then they go and do something stupid like cutting a young promising player at a position of need. There are two guys off the top of my head (Hayden and Sutton) that should be cut to be make room for this guy. This is yet another DT we have cut that we will regret.

FO=Fail!

The Steelers reputation is only one reason.Hayden has had chances and has shown next to nothing..even in preaseason..he showed nothing.harris on the other hand has. Mitchell.. Steelers Dline coach has said good things about him..he had a more productive preseason than hayden...playing in a harder scheme..thats my logic

what makes you think that..i dont see him making plays..i just think Harris would have been a better project.

Harris came to a team that was desperate for DT help, but still couldn't get in the rotation, which means that he couldn't beat out Hayden in practice. Maybe he would have been a good project, but he wasn't going to do anything for the Panthers this year, which is all I'm worried about.

on a fox team..you think thats true??..plenty of players get outplayed in practice..but still are starting..

:rolleyes5:....fox puts a lot of stock in experience...plus hayden is a panthers draft pick..Those two things alone will put Hayden over Harris with fox.

I know from what i have seen and from people i have talked too..one example is D.jarret..he shows up at practice..not saying he is better than moose but he plays harder now.C.johson has out played Brayton..yet brayton is still starting.

I'll bet the people you talked to said that Shaun Smith would be better than Hollis Thomas too, right?

BTW, if Johnson is outplaying Brayton in practice, it's sure as hell not showing up on the field, and they both play a lot of snaps anyway.

no..what does have to do with Shaun Smith?..I am just telling you what i know.On a Fox team along with most NFL teams.Sometimes the best player does not always play..IDK if that applies to Harris vs Hayden..but we have seen what Hayden has and i would rather see what Harris had..But its not simple as Hayden outperformed Harris in practice thats why we let Harris go..:smilielol5:

Well, we didn't let Harris go in the first place, he was signed by another team and there was nothing Fox could do about it. Obviously, he wasn't as good as you seem to think though, or he would have been playing. You might think you know what's going on inside the Panthers organization, but you don't. CJ has not outplayed Brayton and Jarrett has not outplayed Moose.

Some people just like a player that gets run over by offensive linemen all day over a guy that has shown alot of potential.

If you're talking about Nick Hayden, you need to go back and watch him in the Redskins game. He looked a lot better since he didn't have to try to play the 3 technique on every down. He just don't have the bulk or the experience to pull that off. And once again, John Fox didn't just let Harris go, he was fair game while he was on the PS. Fox has acquired players the same way before. There is no use crying about it, because that's just how the NFL works.
