Yeah... what a bust.

Kamara is incredible, if there was a redraft he'd undoubtedly be a top 10 pick, maybe even top 5, and certainly taken higher than CMC. There's no shame in admitting that as a Panther's fan, but it's not like we were the only team that missed on him. Hell, even the Saints drafted 3 players before him. Some dudes you just never really know if their game will translate to the NFL, and no one saw Kamara being able to run through tacklers at this level the way he has.

McCaffrey is a fine player in his own right, but he's definitely not the freak athlete he was billed to be, or you'd expect out of a skill position player taken in the top 10. I would honestly prefer if he became a full time slot receiver, I think that's his natural position in the NFL. He could have Wes Welker's or Brandon Stokley's career, which would be nothing to be ashamed of.

Kamara runs routes in the slot. Watch more football.

Kamara has 2 fewer recpetions, with a higher catch percentage than CMC. I believe that constitutes as "exceptional".

So if Kamara was such a great player why didnt the Saints take him in the first round?   Your hindsight posts are ridiculous.  Kamara has been good but these guys happen from time to time.  Glad to see he is good, but saying the Saints knew this going in is dumb.

CMC = Reggie Bush

If you don't see that as a compliment, you don't know poo

CMC has the frame to hold 5 to 10 pounds more of muscle and not lose quickness. This is something Bush did not have. Bush was maxed out in his frame by the time he was drafted. Look for that to be priority in the off-season. If he can learn to power through arm tackles, he will not only be our feature back but he could be in MVP talks. Just saying.

Kamara put up 5 more reps on bench, jumped 2 inches higher in the vert, and 10 inches more (wow) in the broad jump than McCaffrey at the combine. It was no secret that CMC needed to add strength and work on short area bursts, but you can't fix that overnight. With this kid's work ethic you can bank on a year 2 jump in production. Which is scary for every team we face next year.

They got a different player who's also better than CMC.

Says who? "Tape" from college? We're 15 games into their pro careers. Kamara can do as much in the slot as CMC can.

Not trying to discredit CMC, but I gotta agree with our resident Taints fugger here. The way Botch Jones misused Kamara by stashing him on the bench behind Jalen Hurd should be a crime. Only fugging Botch could fail to see how great of a talent Kamara is. If he played under a real coach in college he would've been drafted in the top 15.

One thing I don't think is talked about enough in regard to CMC is his maturity and pro attitude.  His commitment to treatment, good nutrition... Rob and others have been talking about how he is WAY beyond the typical rookie in these things.

But, where I think his maturity has mattered most has been in dealing with all the huge changes on our offense all season.

1. Can missing preseason, so no reps together.

2. Cam still limited 1st 3 or 4 games... CMC was used quite differently in those early games.

3. Olsen going down.

4. Samuel out, then in, then out again.  Ditto Byrd.

5. Ryan Kalil out most of the season and then back again...

6. KB being traded.

Heck, we've hardly had back to back weeks with the same starters on offense.  Huge credit to CMC for not getting distracted, but coming in and being productive through all the huge twists and turns!

Just the fact that there was even a debate says something. But,  my thing is,  since we spent the capital on him,  we may as well use him.  At this point,  he is ours,  no matter how much was spent on him.

I can't remember who I was specifically responding to when I said that he'd have to play a larger role going forward if we wanted to make a run,  but It's almost like Shula heard me because for the last couple of games,  C-Mac's role has increased as I had envisioned.

I don't think it's a coincidence that first drive vs the Packers went so well , that's just what fuging happens when you make the offense flow through him.

Our offense almost always stalls in the middle of games when we are up by a score or 2 , the playcalling gets predictable , stew gets more touches, CMC isn't on the field as much .

It's w combination of shula not featuring him enough and cam ignoring CMC looking for longer throws down the field .

If cam hit CMC half the time that he was open CMC would have over 100 reception for 900+ receiving yards
