Stop giving Shula credit. He ain't done poo. He's still running him up the middle. He has 75 receptions because Cam is finding him in open space. Shula's a fuging idiot.

Shula's offense features about 40-45% of it's receiving yards to RB's and TE's, so he does deserve some credit. Doesn't mean that I am head over heels for the dude but his offense does pass a fair amount to the RB. I think he has done a good job of utilizing him in the passing game. I agree that he doesn't utilize him nearly as effectively in the running game but that also has to do with him splitting carries, our OL play being pretty uneven and also some of Shula's awful running plays. It's not just one reason why he has been successful and unsuccessful.

I still want to see what he can do with a full workload. His maximum amount of carries is still 15 measly carries against the Falcons.

and i will wholeheartedly agree with you. this fact is a got damn travesty. JStew is still our beloved workhorse, but i think his role in this offense needs to change. We need to gas opposing defenses with CMC in the first half, and then pound the f*ck out of them with JStew in the 2nd half. Shula needs to stop sending JStew wide and CMC up the gut too. if we did those two things, i think we'd have a running game that rivaled the Saints. curious for @saints4lifeagain's thoughts on that one.

Came into this thread hoping someone was going to show me how Vernon butler wasn’t a bust.

Left dissapointed.

Still early with Vern, and he's much less of a bust than Malik McDowell...

CMC is not Kamara.

It really doesn't make any sense to draft another RB unless the staff is willing to part ways with Jstew in the offseason. If he stays and we take in yet another RB, thats going to be one crowded ass RB room. I think the coaching staff is emotinally tied up with Fozzy and Jstew, and who we really need are just CMC, CAP, and occosinally some Armah or Cam for short yardage.

Parting ways with J Stew would be the most common sense move. He's slowed down quite a bit. He doesn't hit the hole as fast as he used to.

I guess my point was that if CMC was used right, he and Stewart both would be having more results than they have.

If CMC was used right, he and Kamara would serve similar roles and have similar results in our two offenses.

CMC is used in a lot of the same ways that Kamara is. Kamara is just able to make guys miss at a much better rate. He forces missed tackles at a ridiculous rate.

There's nothing that CMC does better than Kamara. There's a few things Kamara does better than CMC.
