Easily. I'm an NC native who grew up about an hour outside of Charlotte and now live in Raleigh. Charlotte is bigger, but Raleigh is a superior sports area. If you placed a stadium in the RTP area b/n Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh, it would generate a huge interest and would easily have the fan support.

and the Kool-Aid up in Raleigh is so delicious...I hear...

Really though, MLS cited so many issues with CURRENT STATE downtown Raleigh transportation & infrastructure etc that they didn't even make the top Four finalist cities for franchise. What the fug is in that grape Kool-Aid that makes yall think Rolly is Ready for real football? Please don't cite your claims with "future state infrastructure" because you have to remember that Future Raleigh would be competing with Future CLT!

You and the others don't get it... It's not about the city of Raleigh by itself... The area is called the Triangle for a reason... Durham/Chapel Hill/Raleigh/Cary together make up a huge population center. The education and research nature of RTP make it eilte in and of itself. No one is stating it has bigger buildings or light rails... Charlotte's  a great city and it does have better pro sports. We all know that, no chit... That said, the question was whether the city could support an NFL franchise and with a doubt it can. That I am 100% confident in after living here for 5 years. The city is also a better sports town in general due to the Universities/colleges. I can't speak for anyone else, but who outside of Charlotte gives a damn out the Hornets/Checkers/etc? If charlotte didn't have the Panthers, no one would give a fvck about it from a sports standpoint.

A city nobody talks about for the Carolina's is Myrtle Beach.

That area could easily support a NFL Franchise. It would be like Miami.

You telling me I can go to the beach and watch the Panthers. Just imagine the money they can make off tourist alone. Catching a Panthers game will be a main attraction because there really isn't anything else to do but go to the beach.

Myrtle Beach is a much worse idea and location than Raleigh. Good grief

This is a terrible post and easily one of the dumbest things I’ve read on here in a while.

if you live in raleigh and have said anything in this thread and haven't been to at least 3 hurricanes games this season, what in literal F are you even doing.

Raleigh HAS a franchise.  The youngest team in the NHL.  They're tied in the standings with the defending Cup champs, playing tonight, and they're averaging 12,000 people per game.  OR almost 5,000 less people than the Hornets at EVERY game.  Canes 17-12-7, Hornets 12-22.

I'm a Panthers and Hurricanes season ticket holder so pardon my blunt objectivity, but Raleigh is fickle.  Get off this topic and go to an NHL game for 20$.  Christ.

Raleigh is a sports town? HAHA

He must of saw 1 guy with a Cam jersey that 1 time. Be prepared for the statistical analysis of the growing sports culture of Raleigh.

Yes, Raleigh could support an NFL team.  I think both metros will have a couple of different pro sport franchises that overlap if both metros continue to boom over the next 25 years.  If Baltimore-Washington can support two NFL, two baseball and two NBA teams, certainly both Raleigh and Charlotte may very well be high on the list for relo teams down the road,, though a lot could change....growth trends, etc.

Myrtle beach doesn't have the population mass.

They can't even fill their NHL games, let alone a 75,000 pro stadium. The "Caniacs" haven't supported the team since the Stanley Cup years over a decade ago. I know they suck , but it's bad, they continue to have games with under-10,000 in attendance.

Just to this point, the Canes are one of the hottest teams in the league over the past couple of weeks. GTFO with this garbage.
